AND YET THERE IS NO-ONE WHO CAN BEAT US
oofff very uncomfortable to watch lol... no urgencey in any of the play really
clearly done there homework on us just pass it around and hope to snatch a goal, makes us look pretty stupid when teams put 10 passes together we got hold of the ball and the 1st thing the player does is lash it into oblivion with no aim what so ever, awkward to watch
but point it is, and sitting pretty nicely there just off a spot, cant really moan about the position
Just like to give a shout out to Huddersfield's Lewis O'Brian for being the only footballer on the pitch.
Christ that was painful viewing
On form that is two points dropped, but it's probably one point gained considering how poorly we played.
crap game of football but with two inexperienced players in such key positions we were going to struggle going forward. hopefully the week rest will do them some good
- Phillips MOTM by far.
- Murphy brought off at the right time, a bold early'ish sub, but both Vaulks (ineffective after stupid yellow) and Ralls (looked rusty after a few weeks out) could have been brought off and much earlier than when the next sub was made.
- Sang looked lively but Brown looked like a CB playing LWB. Ralls a better option if Bagan can't come straight back in?
4 points from games on Tuesday and then Friday is not a bad week at all. We're still outsiders for play-off places and probably need a few results to go our way this weekend or slim hopes become slimmer.
The system doesn't really work without the wing-backs pushing up into midfield and we were playing 5-2-3 for large parts of the game tonight. We've got a week off now, so hopefully Ng and Bagan will be available against Watford.
Gabbidon made me smile when he said how well Huddersfield had nullified Cardiff's efforts. What efforts were those - I must have dozed off for a while which would not be unsurprising. A big let off with that penalty miss.
Not as bad as the Middlesborough game but still bloody awful. Ralls was anonymous and the front three didn't click. Take the point and move on.
Of course it was poor viewing but over the decades we’ve witnessed more than a few horror stories down the City so it can be put in perspective. A ten game unbeaten run with six wins in the sequence is not to be sniffed at although some of the football on display is agricultural to say the least but, looking on the bright side, if this is us putting on poor displays I’m waiting with bated breath for when we click and start playing well.
We badly missed our full backs tonight. Hope Ng fit for next Saturday. Brown looked decent enough at full back and may be an adequate replacement for Bagan.
Ps we tried to sign their centre forward on a free but were stymied because of brexit rules. Huddersfield stepped in and got him. Looked decent.
Sometimes you have to give the opposition some credit. Their fans are saying it was a huge improvement. They set out to match our strength and did it very well. They are 8th in the table on home form. This would have been another Wycombe a few weeks ago. I’ll take a point but it was very frustrating.
When was the last time Ralls grabbed a game by the scruff of the neck?
I've said it many times on here... he's one-paced, his passing is generally poor, he seldom drives forward with the ball and just isn't smart enough in possession.
Then along come his little band of supporters to tell you that in fact, he's a solid Championship midfielder, who'd walk into the side of most teams in this division.
Away at Middlesbrough last Saturday after winning at Bournemouth on Wednesday, home against Derby on Tuesday and then all the way up to Huddersfield on Friday, and all at the end of a massive run of games at twice a week.
Come on, we haven't lost a single one of those difficult games.
Perspective.
:ayatollah:
I think we’re doing just fine
Have you watched the last few away games?
I don’t believe we’ve even created one attempt on target, from open play.
The last two games a couple of attempts from set pieces and throw in’s.
You could count them on one hand.
The football is no better than under Harris.
Ball is constantly just kicked aimlessly downfield.
We are 7th. Huddersfield are 18th. The table doesn't lie, but it depends on the question. Who is the most likely to get points from a game ? Cardiff City. We're effective at either end of the pitch - stopping them, and getting them. We're not better footballers, far from it, but more disciplined, able to follow a plan, and happy to spend most of their playing time trying to stop the other side than trying to create chances and score.
Problem as I see it, how do you turn City into a side with more footballing/creative ability without destroying parts of the effective 'machine' they've become ? That's a dilemma. MM is doing to a certain degree exactly what Harris did last season - using limited talent at it's most effective. Trouble is, it hits a ceiling, a point where you just can't go any better. It's a bit like City having a Groundhog day.
I thought we were very very lucky to get a draw. We missed Bennet; nothing was created down the left (or anywhere else for that matter) and we resorted to our default - hoof ball with bells on. Huddersfield tried to play football; we didn't. Murphy had a shocker and I don't recall hearing Ojo's name once. Several players looked tired which is no surprise but , all in all, we got away with one last night. Long may our good fortune continue.
Pathetic performance of Hoofball, why was Bacuna dropped after scoring twice in the last game or at least brought on for the last half hour? Why wasn’t Williams brought on to try to win the game rather than Pack? Mick’s only signing has only played 5 minutes, why did he sign him? Mick is looking more like Warnock without the bullshit! Harris would have been crucified if the team had produced such a terrible performance, big improvements needed to get to the playoffs like last season!
What pissed me off wasn’t the shitty performance, the misplaced passing, the constant clearances into nobody.
What pissed me off was the choices by the manager.
Moore was marked out of the game Murphy had one of his shockers and Ralls was off the pace and the manager refused to change what was going on and the tactics had no semblance of what made us successful previously.
it's inevitable that we will be or have been found out. Managers take us more seriously and do their home work and pacify us
