Erm it was in relation to the one sided view of Russia , and as you always say, try and read the whole conversation, otherwise you confuse posters trying to add to the ongoing discussion- there’s a good lad

"and as you always say" wtf :hehe:
I'm giving the whole conversation a read, correct me if I've not got the gist of it.
Nelson asked why no one was pursuing peace and Cyril gave reasons why neither Russia nor Ukraine were backing down. You took that as a one-sided view of Russia and decided to challenge Cyril about his views on war criminals of decades past and the Iraq war of 20 years ago but would rather not discuss historical incidents and want to stay on the recent conflict in Ukraine because it gets confusing when different subjects are discussed in the same headline.
Have I got that right?

as I’ve said it may have better to have started a different thread ( although it could be argued that you had a motive behind your reply to me , just like one or two who consistently continue to do so ) that said it was only a suggestion wasn’t it. This thread is now getting sidetracked as I initially said it would - hope that helps

Crikey, you start a thread specifically on the Ukraine war quoting fictitious casualty figures then chip into a reply/OpInIOn (delete as appropriate) I gave Nels dragging up a completely left field reference to the perceived behaviour of US Presidents from around the time you claim to have been born that had nothing to do with my reply. Then try to get sniffy that the thread is being sidetracked as you predicted.
I think you have disappeared so far through the tunnel of irony on this that you have long since adjusted your eyes to the sunlight on the other side.

There's no space before an exclamation mark. That's the first time I've seen you commit that error. Lardy excluded a full stop at an end of a paragraph yesterday. Also a first.
What's going on in your family, Munchkinitis?

You know, Morg. Since you mentioned it I noticed a while back that the user ids RonnieBird, TWGL1 and pipster all make that same grammatical mistake with question and exclamation marks, unfailingly.
I must have a accidently copied that habit ! :sherlock:

It was a typo which I could have quite easily amended but decided to leave it as I knew what your childish reactions would be. I’m led to believe you’re a pensioner (which is why I feel obliged to give you and one or two others a “free pass”,) so act your age please and don’t get above your station.

A typo? You sent a post specifically correcting my use of "your" stating it should be "You're".
Feel free to carry on being an idiot about a pompous schoolboy error that backfired on you though!

The irony of you asking why I hadn't posted when I was in Croatia was obviously lost on you.
Anyway, any time you want to have some fun winding me up by stupidly thinking you were clever correcting grammar then fill your boots!

I see this article is now the top news at the BBC's website.
China simulates hitting 'key targets' on Taiwan - https://www.bbc.com/news/world-65223970
It's not mentioned in that but elsewhere it is being reported the US has dispatched one of its aircraft carriers to that area.

Drip , Drip , Drip
Special forces (According to the files, US officials assessed at the time that of the 97 special forces from Nato countries active in Ukraine, 50 were British. This is considerably higher than the number from the US and France, which were said to have deployed 14 and 15 special forces respectively) have been on the ground in Ukraine wonder who else is in there

It looks like the dancefloor is free. Given you started this thread with some nonsensical stats you couldn't support, diverted away from your nonsense by dragging Jimmy Carter and the Yemen into the discussion, from nowhere. What is your opinion so the people that support it and don't can discuss?

Nonsensical stats ….. they could be ( as I originally said) but it’s highly subjective when you think most of the info we get is from Ukrainian intelligence… supported by western media outlets.
Already, the fact that a “leaked report” is stating fellow NATO member states Latvia, France, and the Netherlands had special operatives in Ukraine respectively, as well as US troops suggests that perhaps the initial thread has some truth contained in it. The U.K. had the largest contingent of special forces in the country, the BBC reported, with 50 troops on the ground. ( my guess is that those figures are probably higher)
What the agenda change over the next few months.

So you think that intelligence reports of 90 NATO special forces being in the Ukraine make your nonsensical stats of 234 NATO military trainers and 2458 NATO soldiers being killed in your OP, highly subjective rather than absolute bullshit?

As I said they could be , but I suspect the troop losses are probably higher on both sides if American officials who coincidentally more circumspect in describing Ukrainian losses, ( why would that be ) have stated in the leaked document that as of February, Ukraine had suffered 124,500 to 131,000 casualties.
It’s worth noting that NATO troops have been in Ukraine since 2014 and Canada have been in there since 2015.

Thanks for clarifying that you think the Ukraine war is underplaying the loss of nearly 3k NATO troops. Madness!
