Good player at this level, lazy though. If he had a better work ethic he'd be in the Championship by now

surely the new manager would want to get a look at the players before making any decisions

You would think so. The players might want a look at the manager too, unless they've had enough of the club.

Don’t think we could cope with Brian Barry Murphy and Ricky Jade Jones, all in one sentence

We’re being linked with this bloke, although it looks like there’s Championship interest in him.

What a fecking bizarre piece of business that would be. Sign a player for 2m euros (according to Transfermarkt), send him to Belgium, hardly play him, bring him back to Cardiff in the middle of a crisis, never play him, flog him off for (presumably) a loss. If anything underlines how this club is run it would be that.

It would be extreme Cardiff, even for Cardiff.

yeah just seen that . Apparently Huddersfield were in the running too along with us
looking at the transfer news the last few days lots of players moving around whilst we're still in limbo
I have a gut feeling like last year year the players we sign before the August kick off will be signed too late
at the stage now we're less than 2 weeks before the players return back to light training

You did see the other 10 positions being played at a poor standard last last season? Or was I watching something else?

We are now a level below, so this group of players will come across opposition who will make the mistakes before we do, and i'm not attempting humour by saying that. Plenty of them will recover some form at league 1 level. The biggest concern is how many of these players are on the slide, which encompasses confidence, belief in ability and a lack of apprehension in possession, things that were abundant last season. My hope is that this group has 'Bottomed out' which should mean that the only way is up (to quote yazz and the plastic population) i still have my reservations, and i've been calling this group of players out for a long time, But maybe, just maybe, a new coach, a different mind set and some confidence can lift this bunch.

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
Sell Robinson for some OK cash.
O'Dowda, I'd miss him, but not against selling him.

I'd hope the club try to keep Robinson, as i'd say that he comes out of the mess with some credit. Same with Salech. The rest can go as far a i'm concerned, i'd not be bothered about that.

I hope you are right but from what I witnessed last season, was a group who couldn't raise a glass in a bar. Dropping down one division will not make them better players or give them a better attitude. The vast majority have pinched a living from the club for years. If they prove me wrong I will be delighted.
Let's see how many are pursued by other clubs, that will highlight how "in demand" they are,

This must be the start of the long-awaited ‘Callum Raid’ on Cardiff City!
First Callum Robinson and Callum O’Dowda, then they’ll come for Calum Chambers, and before you know it some Championship predator will be in for Callum Wintle, Callum Willock, Callum Daaland and the jewel in the crown, Callum Horvath!
Life is so cruel! :hehe:

For me, the must keeps are Salech, Robertson and Fish as they are a future core who have many years ahead of them. Obviously, circumstances can change, but I've seen enough with all three that quality is there and they can grow into having a positive role at the club.
I think it's time to cash out on Robinson, we need to cut costs, and he's 30 now.

I'm with you, i've been saying it for two seasons. The manager, coaching set up was poor, but some of those individual performances were down to the players, and i'm astonished at the amount of excuses for some of those players.

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
The other site is reporting that Horvarth, Ng, Turnbull and Willock have all asked to leave. If they did, I think Ng would be the only loss. Even then if Rinhomota resigns, with him, Kpakio, numerous right footed midfielders and 6' centre halves we should be well covered.
It they were to leave, it would free up space for the couple of new signings. We currently have 24 senior players (defined as those born 2003 or before), 7 U21's who have played league football (Ashford, J.Colwill, Kpakio, Giles, Lawlor, Nyakuhwa & Reindorf) and 3 other U21's who have played for the 1st team in the cups (Jefferies, Twose & Beecher). It is a really large squad.
We have some depth but in my opinion we need to add a traditional centre half, a left footed winger with pace and possibly a no.6 (this depends for Chambers and Rinhomota). Chambers could be sensational a holding midfielder. I thought he was excellent when he played for us there last season.
-
Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
To be honest, none of them would be a loss if we get a good price for them. Neither of those four are must-keep, Turnbull is OK and Ng has had amazing seasons in the past, but been naff last season.

As I posted on Twitter earlier, apart from Ng possibly, a Championship club would need to have its head read to contemplate signing them on anything like the same wages as we paid them following their performances last season . Again, it’s arguable with Ng, but, would any of them have got in the strongest eleven of our bottom of the table team?

Ng would absolutely be in our strongest XI.

they're all under contract, doesn't matter if they've asked to leave unless someone is willing to pay what the club thinks they're worth
-
Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
The sheer cheek and comedy of Horvath asking to leave... is he worried League 1 is still a couple of divisions too high for him?
Overall I tend to agree, other than Ng no big losses there and presumably all on relatively high wages, think we'd be very happy to give them away if we can find takers.
