I don't think its slightly different, it is if you want it to be

I tend to agree with the "civil disobedience" view tbh. I think if we'd gone full lockdown day one there's a high chance of what you predicted may have happened - imo any lockdown needed to be phased in. As people understood the nature of the virus better then a full lockdown becomes more acceptable, minimising the number of idiots arguing against it due to youtube videos.
We'd gone? I'm sure I read a post of yours recently in which you stated you're resident in Sweden. Should have been you'd... or are you fibbing and really living somewhere like Caerphilly?
Why are you so interested in UK lockdowns? If you are as concerned over the Covid-19 threat as you make out then why remain in a country that has no social distancing and all the rest of it? Are you suffering from a form of Stockholm Syndrome, or are you considerably less intelligent than I had thought?

Are you all prepared to bend over and permit his maybe dodgy vaccine jammed in your harris ? and possible a yearly booster.
I can post this now, as his interview was with the BBC and thus non conspiratoral.
Bill Gates, totally incapable of producing a virus beating operating system since MSDOS version 1.1 released in 1981.
I didn't hear the interview but is the claim a vaccine would normally take 5 years yours, or his, or someone else's?
For the past 2 months all the expert opinion I have heard has been that a vaccine will probably take 12-18 months. In the past week there has been a lot of media speculation (based on research update reports) that it may be possible to get a vaccine out in 6 months if the various research centres around the world continue to collaborate. If that is possible it may be on the basis of cutting some normal stages in testing. It would also likely take a long time for the vaccine to get out to all parts of the world - especially Africa, south Asia and large parts of Latin America. I haven't heard anyone saying we should expect it to take 5 years!

Would did you make of the announcement by Oxford University about potential accelerated production of their vaccine before it was proven?

Gates mentioned 5 years, incidentally, AIDS was identified in 1984 (this is a web site statement not mine) but we still do not have a vaccine, additionally AIDS is/was Dr Fauci's speciality and the work that gave him his reputation.

The fastest vaccine produced took about 5 years.

Scrub all the above. A case of mistaken identity.

She puts chances of success at 80%. That isn't a high figure, but the press have gone ahead and inflated its chances.

I realise shoehorning "Stockholm Syndrome" into a claim I'm in Sweden is quite amusing, but I'm not in Sweden and have never claimed to be. So maybe you might want to find evidence to back your claim...
The only "in Sweden" reference I'd ever love to make would be "in Swedish womens beach volleyball team" but that's never going to happen.
I can only hope that your realisation you were wrong might lead you to question your correctness on other things too.

Apologies. I had corrected myself further up. Mistook your post for ITK's. It's all these youtube vids I watch, they're weakening my eyesight and addling what's left of my brain (as you keep reminding me).

Would you bend over, or take in the arm Gates Vaccine ? In time i don't think we'll have a choice!!

I’d probably ask for medical advice rather than think I can figure it out myself.

Can you imagine what that would look like? Desperate people commit violent crimes. Once every business premises had been looted, or too well guarded by the military (as Martial Law would have been enforced by then), gangs would form to kick in the doors of their neighbours to rob them and Christ knows what else.
It's great to bang on about saving lives by doing what has never been done before holds far greater risks (my opinion) but few are prepared to consider what life would become for themselves and theirs with a shell of an economy. Do you think you'll be sat at home unemployed with a stoic stiff upper lip with the power grid either down or outages every day and afraid to venture out in search of food?
I think you’re living in a world of fear created by spending too much time on the Internet tbh.
I think this fear is why you have to put so much stock in everything being a conspiracy because the fact it could all just be a huge **** up poorly managed would be too much.

Hydroxychloroquine treats many things but mostly lupus. Auto immune patients could be screwed if existing stocks instead used for vaccine.

This is an unfortunate response though... you seem to be wearing mental illness as some badge of honour and you’re able to spot it in others
Sorry you experienced it, but not your finest hour to make an assertion on the mental state of someone else.... surely that’s personal.

Dear me.....
Do you think there’s a chance - just a possibility - that you may be taking this message board and the people who post on it a shade too seriously?

I didn't take those remarks to heart. It was plainly a circuitous dig to further advance his theory, which others seem to share, that I'm in need of professional counselling. I Find it amusing actually as it's over two decades since I've attended a doctor's appointment, am not in receipt of any prescribed medication and the last time I took a couple of panadol tablets was over a year ago to ease an aching back. I also kip soundly each night. The problem with him and the others is they dislike my Covid-19 posts as they run contrary to what the telly drills into their skulls every time they turn on the news. I compared myself to Goldstein from 1984 the other day and them as angry, snarling and hopelessly brainwashed cinema punters. That upset them as well. :hehe:

Good.
Here’s a question for you: as you regard yourself as a Covid-19 sceptic and you are opposed to the measures which are currently in operation, are you observing them nonetheless or are you going about your daily business as usual? If the latter is the case, what are you doing in opposition to the social distancing and quarantine guidelines?

World events do not occur by accident. They are made to happen, whether it is to do with national issues or commerce; and most of them are staged and managed by those who hold the purse strings.
The above I was about to leave as is for my reply as bait to lure you or one of several other candidates to quote and claim as more evidence of my fevered imagination. Those words would read that way to someone such as you who will always choose to remain as a coincidence theorist because it's far more comfortable to idly accept at face value what corporate tells you.
The first paragraph was written by the late British politician Denis Healey. He was much more than someone who held various government ministerial posts. I'd be amazed if anyone described him as a conspiracy theorist, and yet if you read the quote carefully he went further than I do.
