The way to stop it, is have that fella who reffed Italy v Spain in charge

Hehe. You have to respect sludge's laser focus here. I suspect we all do sludge, but this lot far less so than previous generations. They are a good side and deserve to be there

With regard to England's penalty, I imagine if you are kicked/touched whilst in the middle of diving then it is technically a foul?

The first offence would be simulation wouldn't it? Therefore no foul

I will be giving them a shout, never enjoyed Italian drama , feigning injury tactics .

The problem is they can’t play them all, we’ve had the problem in the past of having our only decent players all playing similar roles. Wyn the Leap, Tosh and Ron Davies…. Rush, Hughes, Saunders. We shoe horned them in because that’s all we had. England have other positions well covered so the talents you’ve mentioned sometimes become a bit of a luxury. The five subs thing helps but, on occasions, can disrupt the rhythm.

They don't have any decent cover in defense or goalkeeper though.

Re: FT: ENGLAND 2 - 1 DENMARK. aet

They've done well so far but when I see a game like Spain v Italy, which was good enough to be a World Cup final, I fail to understand the superlatives that are lavished on this England side.
They are a fit, well-organised team with great strength in depth who are playing in a home tournament. I will admit that Sterling is one of the players of the tournament but collectively there is no wow factor to their football.

All from the Guardian, so some on here won't bother with them I'm sure, but I think these are three interesting articles looking at different consequences arising from Wednesday's game;-

I want Italy to win but Southgate and this group of players are generally likeable. Like the way theyve ignored the boo boys.
No comparison to me with the play off final where I really wanted a Brentford win.

The arrogance of these people to even contemplate a national day off if they win on Sunday knows no bounds.
European vitriol re the pelanty dive justified.
Southgate for PM!

Just seen the footage of Mount giving his shirt to that young girl. These players and manager will deserve it. The buffoon jumping on the bandwagon in an England shirt makes me want to be physically sick.

They love a good football success story these politicians, I hear Rees-Mogg has been enquiring when Wanderers season tickets go on sale.
