A reflection of his personality. The team played like one of his interviews.

Apart from a brief spell during the first half, there really wasn't much evidence of an improvement in the quality of City's football tonight.

We all know teams defending a 1 goal lead will sit deeper and deeper as the game goes on. It's no surprise we conceded 2 late goals, that's football.

They play great football, he did a really good job in difficult circumstances at Telford, did well with England youth teams and now some are sating FGR are the best League Two side ever. Someone is going to take a chance on him, I hope it is us.

I wonder what happened after 77 and 82 minutes that could possibly have affected the result...

It will be the cheap option - Morison.

I'm not so sure, now. It's only the cheap option if he's a sure thing to keep us up. We'll lose most of the loanees at least, as well as probably Vaulks, Flint, Smithies and potentially Ralls. His "best ever" transfer window has got us a good striker, a great right wing back, a good backup left wing back, a very good CM and a laughing stock. He's got to do that again, 3 times, in the summer.

Yes, it's incredible how many teams winning 1-0 with 4 minutes to go end up losing games. You wonder why they bother to try and be in front with such little time remaining.

It's also the easy option. No need to bother with interviewing prospective managers, negotiating the release from their existing contracts, etc.

But he talks a good game and sells himself quite well and we all know our board are sold easily.

Potentially but if there's not a bigger uptick come the international break, I think he's struggling. We've got some tough fixtures until the international break, now. I think he needs to win at least a couple of them, if he doesn't, I don't see how he can assure anyone he's going to keep us up next year. There's 7 or 8 good players at this level in that side so we should be picking up points, and almost all of them won't be here next season.

You're correct, but he wouldn't have got the job to the end of this season if the board thought like that.

Whatever they'll do will be the wrong decision. They'll probably give him a 5 year deal and Uche a lifetime contract after signing him for 10m cos the "fans think it's funny". Interesting, I think most people in the away end were exasperated with him come the final whistle. Joke has worn off.

I’m pretty sure the board thought they were getting Wilder and he either watched us at Fulham and thought “no thanks”, or Boro said the job was his after finding out we were going to get him. Warnock said he knew it was all lined up weeks before. They panicked, Morison got a few good results and it made some sense. And to be fair, he’ll probably keep us up.

Re: FT: HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 2 - 1 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I enjoyed the first half, decent away performance and perhaps we should have been leading. Second half backs to the wall with a very well constructed goal. Hugill's elbow caused a change to the dynamics of tte game last 20 mins, we defended too deep and paid the price.
A few tired legs there, I would replace Bagan, Vaulks and Davies. Bring on the Stoke loanee, Ralls and Collins.

Collins can hold up and pass!!
Yes hugill is a good fit for what we seem to want to do.

Re: FT: HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 2 - 1 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I'm just a bit bored of us having 20-30% of the ball.
I get it against far superior clubs and teams, but is it really necessary against Huddersfield? Do we really have absolutely no chance against them if we try to play a bit more?
Because when we did press a little more forward (not much beyond our half but at times) in the first half they looked a little wobbly at the back on the night.
Second half we retreated almost to our own box at times and we're still getting beaten down the flanks.
I know Huddersfield are obviously better than us at the moment and play a slower tempo passing game so how they play will dictate how we do to an extent. But our tactics of sitting right off undoubtedly gave them far more time than was needed.

Really strange reading this thread back.
First half everyone seemed to be in agreement that we played well, probably deserved to be a goal up, against a good team away from home.
Then we score a good goal.
Ultimately we disappointingly lose to 2 very late goals and all of a sudden the morison out brigade come creeping out of the woodwork.
We shouldn't be thinking about appointing managers based on individual results and especially not 20 minute periods at the end of games - but the general direction they are taking us.
I'm not saying that Morison is definitely the best man for the job, but let's at least judge him on the right things, not some pre-conceivd agenda

Where has this notion we should have been a goal up at half time come from? Morison was saying the same.
5 shots on target but none of them were clear chances and all easy saves for the keeper. There was one good block on Drameh I recall but defender was the right side of him to defend and do his job.
Plus, at least 3 of those half chances came from Hudds pissing about at the back rather than good forward play from us.
