That was bang average football verging on poor with some sh*t thrown in. Occasionally it wasn’t. 2-2 flattered both sides. How they weren’t given at least one penalty is because the officials were sh*t too!

I thought we played some decent stuff, only saw the second half (was a my granddaughter’s Christmas dance show), but I enjoyed it. They did look like pelantys but I’m trusting the referee’s impeccable impartiality. The Christmas show was very good:hehe:

You made the right call going to your gd’s Christmas show there Mr P. The second half was better but if we weren’t City fans we’d say we were meh. Can you imagine the meltdown on here if we weren’t given those pels! ⚽️⚽️😎

Re: FT: STOKE CITY 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Question. Is there any point in wings, fullbacks, wing backs, whatever they’re supposed to be, busting a gut to cross a ball only for none of his teammates to be anticipating it? We did well to get a point today.

I think he's been unfit all season. He definitely makes a difference when he's 100%. He makes a difference when he's not. He's a leader. Is he perfect? Is he flashy? Absolutely not. But he's a solid, quality Championship midfielder in my opinion. He works hard. Someone's got to do it.

A draw away is always decent. Even against rubbish opposition.
Better performances in the 2nd half. Be interesting to see if Etete gets a start against Blackpool.

I just don't get the love affair with Ralls. Never have, never will. The commentators fawn over him all the time.
I'm sure, back in the day, we used to say things like average but now we say works hard. What does that even mean? Tuerto referred to Mark Harris as working hard. I work hard, you probably work hard, but what does is actually mean? I expect the working hard bit. It's not supposed to be above and beyond. These aren't doing it for free.
Is this what we've come to. Is football so crap that working hard is the new benchmark? I dunno. I watched that match today and if I didn't know we were in The Championship I'd never have guessed. Could have been L1 or L2.
Also, If I were Colwill, I'd want out of Cardiff City in January. Force a move. He's going nowhere with us.

Re: FT: STOKE CITY 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We're 19th. There's a whole bunch of us in the same boat. Stoke included. Hardly anything between the clubs. It'll be a lottery this season as to who goes down. We look like 19th and play like 19th. There has to be some improvement soon otherwise it's going to be tight.

I enjoyed today’s game, but I agree about Colwill - clearly rated by his country, but not by his club, it’s very odd.

I thought we knocked it about quite well on times. There was one ten minute spell where Stoke struggled to lay a glove on us, some decent movement which, perhaps, deserved a third goal.

Having watched the shambles in Qatar, I'm not sure that Robert Page's judgement is something to hang your hat on.

Maybe Colwill isn't as good as some people think. The club would play him if he was, surely?

You're right. We had our moments. Don't mind me. I think I'm just jaded. :ayatollah:

I'm not sure what Hudson's game plan is with 5 minutes to go. Maybe he's just intimidated by our away supporters chanting!?

Ralls is not a leader. Doesn't lead by example and he's as quiet as a mouse.

There are plenty of other people out there who rate him and he makes more impact when he comes on for Wales than he does with City. However, despite the reluctance of his club to use him, can you name a current City player who would score goals like Colwill’s winner at Forest, his winner at QPR, his goal at Anfield and the one he got for Wales against the Czech Republic? If he isn’t good enough, he’s nor even getting the chance to prove that.

I'll admit I'm not feeling the love for the current version of Colwill even though you've highlighted some good examples of his time in a City shirt. I don't know what he is or where he fits and that's not a criticism of the lad, Morison had no intention of building a side around Colwill so he's in limbo with us right now.
Like I said, I'd be looking at going to a club where I'm going to develop and get first team time. It would be kinder on the lad to loan him out and have him starting, playing and getting valuable game time and perspective at a different club, in January, rather than doing what we're doing with him now....which is bugger all.

I suspect that his work rate - especially defensively - isn't enough for the manager[s].
