Re: FT: TURKEY 2 - 0 WALES. Match thread
Not good enough in each other's positions.
Referees just rank bad, never a red.
We're doomed.... doomed

Quite agree. Players should be able to aim their studs into the midriff of the opposition players.

His foul tonight and his red card foul for Portsmouth in 2022 on the right.

Yet, I don’t think the current group of players are as bad as they’ve looked in the last two games, the manager is not getting the best out of them.
Agree, I’m sure we could get better performances out of this group of players with more direction and tactical management. If I’m reading correctly that we have a very good opportunity of getting a 2nd chance in the playoffs through our Nations league A ranking then they need to replace Page now and give the new manager the remaining 4 qualifying games to introduce his ideas so we’re ready for those play offs

Midriff? I thought it was his "Turkish Delights". If that wasn't a sending off I don't know what is!

We overperformed hugely courtesy of Bale and we are simply returning to the status quo given our very limited resources.

It's a physical game or used to be
Just because somebody has a mark from a challenge doesn't mean the tackler intended to injure that person
Timing is crucial and often makes a situation look worse than it was

If had been the other way around we’d expect the opposition player to be sent off.

I beg to differ
I can't stand over reactions
It would have stung a bit but in rugby they get on with it

True, but I still think that these players can deliver more and I’m starting to doubt that Page is capable of making that happen.
There are lots of examples where he fails to make changes that could affect a game when most people can see that certain tactics aren’t working. Proactive management.

Absolutely. No place for tackles like that in football.
I couldn't give a shit if it was slightly mistimed, any tackle like that could cause serious injury.

You're happy for players to show studs in a tackle in football. Says all I need to know.

Re: FT: TURKEY 2 - 0 WALES. Match thread
Two nil away to Turkey is not that bad , thier a decent side, in their last 5 matches they've won 4

It could have been 5, but 2, thanks to a penalty save and VAR makes things much better.

It was never that physical. That would have always been a sending off.

Disagree Bobby.
Dealt a very harsh hand IMHO.
The last decade apart, we have grown accustomed to this type of decision.
Some barren years ahead I fear.

Turkey were crap, we’re so bad currently that they won comfortably despite themselves.

Deservedly losing 4-2 at home to Armenia would have been a shocking result in any era of Welsh football.

Not a hundred per cent sure of that, but it definitely was one in this era.

It was the softest definite red ever, but by the letter of the law a definite red

In rugby, the challenge on Ampadu in the air would have been a red. And so was this one even though it was unintentional. Very dangerous.
