Like the rest of our front line he's not quite a striker or target man or number 10
That's not to say we need to worry too much but it would be nice to have a lump on the bench or to rough them up first 45

Stand out comments:
"Their substitutions, it was like land of the giants.."
"Teams like this who put everyone behind the ball to try and frustrate..
"Southampton conceded five but they wanted to win the game"
"They obviously came for a nil nil and they get one chance from a set play.."
He must've forgotten the two after we'd scored.
Talk about sour grapes :hehe:
That big physical nuisance Rubin Colwill lol

I think he won more headers today than he'd won in his career! (2) :hehe:

Etete and Colwill improved us when they came on.

on a serious note he is right
the first time i have seen us play with us putting so many players behind the ball maybe the Leeds game but i fully expect the home side to be on the front foot as a rule . I can't comment on the Coventry game
Bulut has obviously studied there play and changed it a bit for this game
worked a treat too

After the poor substitutions of Ipswich away, Bulut has got his substitutions spot on of late and changed things for the better.
We've had too many managers who have gone like for like or not changed things early enough in the past but Bulut does seem to have good coaching nous.
Its easy to say after we won the game but with Ramsey being out, he used Colwill to good effect which, along with the others getting game time, can only be a good thing.

I thought we were good value for our win. We battled. Were they the better team? maybe. But they scored nil. You can't win if you score nil.

anyone else think that if the goal hadn't gone in then we could have had a penalty for a foul on McGuiness - their defender was all over him

Maybe. I didn't notice who the defender was, but Tony Mowbray must have been absolutely livid with him. He was far more interested in the wrestling match with McGuinness that he didn't bother jumping to head the ball away. He really should have cleared that.

Only seen the goal once, but doesn’t the ball come more off his knee/foot, than head ?

hilariously, thanks to the two big chances at the end we actually registered more xG than Sunderland as well 1.3 : 1.0

So Sunderland still had an expected goals ratio of 1:0 even though they didn't score !!

It just hit him on the head and went in. I dont think he knew much about it he was being wrestled.

Yeah, you could see that from his reaction when the ball went in. Admitted though, like it's some kind of confession? I can see why people are calling it a 'Smash and Grab' :hehe:

This ‘Smash ‘n’ Grab’ thing is confusing me .....What the hell has Alan Warboys and Bruce Bannister got to do with us beating Sunderland away:shrug:
