Why on earth are we being toxic about players who objectively played well? I'd understand if Wintle had a bad game, but he was excellent today.
And yes, Wintle was on loan because he fell out with Bulut over playstyle differences. Take the L on this one, Gunman. I say this as someone who finds Wintle wildly inconsistent.

Played some lovely diagonals out to the wing in the first half, shame Tanner wasted most of them.
He played really well today. I don't dispute that, let's hope he carries on. He was in the conversation for MOM

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 PETERBOROUGH UTD. Match thread
Played 1, won 1.
New manager with a starting 11 of 6 Welsh players, 7 academy graduates. A very unlike Cardiff young team and played some nice entertaining football at times and won the game.
I'm disappointed in how the 3 amigos have got us here, how they have largely neglected the running of the club but on reflection today was a good day. There is plenty there to build on.
Even thought second half we got stuck in and showed some grit to see out the win when certainly last season that wouldn't have happened.
Lot of positives to take. This season was never going to be HMS piss the league.

At the end of the game, both Rubin and Joel went around the pitch carrying a shirt in honour of Brent Davis.
Brent had been working at Cardiff City for many years and was a very popular figure around Cardiff City Stadium, and Rubin dedicated today’s win to Brent and his family.
“Brent is a special man. He was always there, always a warm presence and was always kind to everybody.
"We got the shirt today and that win was for Brent and his family. It was his funeral yesterday, and may he forever rest in peace.”

That was something separate, but still cool. I saw it being spread on some other places it was for a lad who took his own life called Cai Davies.

Ah, apologies. I can see from the quotes the t shirt was for an older person. Yes, I'd read somewhere there would be a tribute to a young man. A touching response from fans who made themselves heard on 18 mins.

Some people want to do a Joey Barton and make any event all about them.

Like this a lot. Long time since we had a manager with strong principles, discipline and consequences.

Nobody is being in any way toxic about any of the players.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 PETERBOROUGH UTD. Match thread
Agree there's no toxicity.
It's a discussion. Kpacio looks a talent who could possibly be a future PL player. However its just been pointed out he made some mistakes near the end. (I think including losing the ball which led to that good save from Turner)
We also despite some attractive football wasted some good positions particularly between J Colwill and Tanner 1st half ( I think overall both can be pleased with their performances)
Rubin despite clearly being the best player on the pitch really should have put us 1 up and I think should have scored 2nd half as well.
Robinson definitely should have done far better 2nd half.
We've got to be really pleased with that display especially for a 1st game of the season. I thought we looked better than Luton.
The big worry for me was central defence. However I think Lawlor is far better than that and he put himself under pressure with that silly challenge for his 1st booking.
I still think to challenge we need reinforcements particularly a dominant CB but this board seem to think we can do it on the cheap.

I wonder what he did? Late for training, team meeting?
No great loss anyway.

He always strikes me as a player with a bad attitude. Good that BBM is clamping down on poor behaviours.

Probably, good to see standards like this being enforced. I think at this level he's a good option. J Colwill did his job well mind.

C’mon now. Fans are so predictable. It was a penalty, it was brought on by our own mistakes.
Boing the officials is so childish. The half time whistle should have been met with cheering and applause for what in my opinion was a real breath of fresh air for a change. A young team showing grit and confidence.
Bore off.
The awarding of the penalty was just one part of it.
The 'booing' in general was because the ref was giving a foul for almost every challenge and was sanitising the match.
I'm relived I'm not standing next to you...

That silly challenge was largely due to a loose throw from Kpakio putting him under pressure

One or two nice touches second half but the game completely passed J Colwill by first half.
JR this is really harsh. I thought Colwill jnr had a really good game. His type of energy and work rate is exactly what we've been missing in our midfield over recent seasons.
He also appears to be an angry guy, again something we've been missing

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 2 - 1 PETERBOROUGH UTD. Match thread
Kpakio did really well, especially as he's still a teenager, only been 18 for a few months. It's easy to see why they think he has a very high ceiling.
the incident towards the end was frustrating, he initially showed really good pace and strength to win the ball from the Peterborough player, he then had about 3 or 4 separate opportunities to knock it out of play, or hoof it up the line but didn't take them, just kept trying to beat the players. that could very easily have cost us 2 points, but he will learn from it.
he supported Tanner very well in attack, I would have liked to have seen him using his pace to overlap tanner and whip a cross on, but the fullbacks never seemed to do that - that must have been an instruction from the coaching staff.
Bagan on the other side was solid and dependable, but pretty limited as an attacking option- I like him as a player, but everything he does with the ball is so telegraphed.
