Apologies for the mistake, didn't realise they had two Whittaker's - "mighty" Plymouth are top of League One by the way.
Highlights of the game from the jacks' website;-

So, I make it that nineteen City players have been named in Wales mens squads from under 17 upwards in the last week and let’s not forget that there were seven Cardiff players in the under sixteen squad that was a joint winner of the Victory Shield last month. It’s not a great time for the first team at the moment, but the law of averages says that we must have some youngsters coming through at the club who will be playing for the seniors in the coming years.

we never used to have so many in the Wales sides did we? is this the result of more investment in the youth system? or just a freak occurrence? or other teams having a dry spell?

From memory, four in an age group squad is not too unusual, seven is pretty exceptional though and I can’t remember us having a combined total of eight in the under 21 and senior squads in the time since we had an Academy (six of the eight are Academy products).

U18s 1-0 against the Jacks at half time. Ruben's brother Joel Colwill with the goal.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Caleb Hughes makes it 2-0.

Finished 2-0, that’s five wins out of six now at first team, under 23 and under 18 levels in games with the jacks, but, of course, the one we lost was the big one.
The irony is that as the first team is setting all sorts of unwanted club records, below that things look as healthy as they’ve been in years - that’s four straight wins now for the under 18s.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Highlights of the under 18s win over Swansea are now on the club website, including a superb free kick by Caleb Hughes for the second goal.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Thanks. That was a cracking free kick.

Bournemouth aren't in the same league, and there's nothing on the academy Twitter feed about this?
is this a friendly? maybe to give someone minutes on the way back from injury

Steve Morison mentioned there’d be a couple of friendly matches for the under 23s during the international break, not sure what sort of team we’ll put out mind.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Match just finished
Bournemouth won 2-1
Cian Ashford scored for us
Cian is definitely one of the most exciting players I’ve seen for a long long time !!!

Great news about the under 14s, the good news just keeps on coming from the age group teams!

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Yes the future certainly looks rosy Paul with the academy age groups
There’s a steady stream of youngsters coming through and from a financial perspective they could see us in good stead 💴👍

if there is a genuine route to the first team going forward as there has been this season then quite a few of them might prefer to stay here

As well as more promising pre teens signing for us because they now seem to have a chance of making it that they didn't previously.
Very few online details of this, but it seems, Wales Under 17s, with four City players in the squad, began their campaign in the Euro qualifying mini tournament in Portugal during the international break with a 3-1 win over Ukraine and now face the Portugese next, before finishing with a game against Kazakhstan.
