Re: 40 Killed In Hamas Attacks In Israel
An Israeli journalist put it well this morning on Radio 5 when he said if you keep people in what are, effectively, cages for decades what results shouldn't come as a shock - Kay Burley on Sky would interpret that as someone saying the Israelis had it coming, but it's not, it's just a very tragic example of cause and effect.

Kay Burley is an utter xxxx
She's a rank amateur and I am amazed she hasn't been sacked
How has she made a career out of what she does ?

Re: 40 Killed In Hamas Attacks In Israel
I do wonder what Israel's end goal is here. I have no time for the Palestine flag waving crowd, I think Hamas's slaughter last week was an utter atrocity from which Israel has a right to respond to.
But they know they can't simply bomb the place away, don't they? I assume it's an attempt to demonstrate punishment such that people turn their backs on Hamas. But how do they do that and demonstrate that?

They are losing the plot
It's incredible how the west is always talking about negotiations and peace talks yet its almost saying oh go ahead , bomb away before Israel and its allies stop and think
There has to be some sort of response but you don't stop terrorism by killing innocent people that just creates martyrs
Lyse Dousett is on Radio 5 , an incredibly experienced and balanced reporter , like Jeremy Bowen and it appears there may be moves to try and avert this madness

They know they can't bomb the problem away but they are going to anyway

No utilities until hostages freed. I guess they are pushing that route first

What I see is some people celebrating that a certain type of person has been executed, from the other side I dont see them celebrating that a person has been killed.
I know there are lots of international peace negotiators on here, maybe Sludge and Dorcas and others could offer their services and help us all out to resolve the situation, if they have time - obviously.

I dont even think they will enter Gaza (my opinion). They will just flatten most of it, cut everything off - and then see what happens next. Hamas need to look after and feed their people. As it stands - they are being taken back to medieval times - which is not the outcome they would have wanted.

You obviously can't read very well can you? Clearly that's why you understand zilch about fascism.
Far from celebrating any massacre I have openly condemned the kidnap and slaughter of innocents on both sides. I deplore the initial Hamas action as much as the retaliatory Israeli ones. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.

From what I have seen - the only people celebrating are those that support Palestine . The flag waving in London, the woman caught on camera asking a Jewish man - are all your people dead etc. Corbyn unable to condemn Hamas etc.
Whether they are socialist / left wing / activists one could only guess
I havent seen any jewish / israeli's jumping up and down celebrating the destruction of Gaza.
What I have seen is a lot of 'whatabboutism' from people unable to accept that Hamas have done this.

Well I think you can clearly see from my original reply to you that I for one have condemned the leadership on both sides. By the way it might have escaped your notice but Jeremy Corbyn is no longer Labour leader. We are well aware of your right wing myopic stance to everything; you really don't need to constantly remind us.

Surely everyone knows by now that this proves nothing. You don't even have to be at all tech savvy, just post from a mobile and a laptop with different log-ins.

Tbf to Sludge and Dorcus, whom I often disagree with, I think they have been very fair here and rightly condemning the atrocities whilst also highlighting the futility of going in all hung ho.

I dont think anyone wants to see atrocities - on any side. There was always going to be a massive response from Israel.
Maybe they should have just shut all the water , power, fuel off - and not dropped any bombs.
But - it's a war now - Hamas have started it by doing what they did on Saturday - war crimes. Israel is paying back with interest. Neither side will back down, Hamas will end up being the cause of far many more Palestinian deaths than the Isareli bombs.
Sludge and Dorcas should offer their services international peace negotiators

****ing hell, considering the importance of this thread , you’re still harping on about multiple accounts , are you all there?
As another poster said, just because a few poster’s opinions differ to others doesn’t necessarily imply that they are multiple accounts. Don’t flatter yourself spa.
Boring ****
FWIW it’s a tragedy on both sides , just like Yemen,Iraq, Ukraine ( getting pummelled)etc.

Re: 40 Killed In Hamas Attacks In Israel
Israel is again using it usual tactic of attacking the Palestinian people on mass with massive force in its revenge for the barbarous Hamas attack.
Israel's actions has always laid the ground work for the creation of even greater foes. In the early 1980’s they invaded Lebanon to cleanse it of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO). Initially the Shite population went along with it but after years of occupation and brutality against the local population they started to rise up. This was the creation of Hezbollah. They eventually forced them to retreat from Lebanon after suffering very high casualty levels. Hezbollah are now Israel's most dangerous enemy, created by by their own hubris. If they had not invaded Lebanon there would be no Hezbollah.
In the late 1970’s Israel funded a small fringe Islamic group, who had little support amongst the Palestinian people to act as a counter weight against the secular PLO. This group had little traction until they were funded by the Israelis. This group was Hamas. So by refusing to deal with the PLO and trying to play them against another Palestinian group, they created something even worse.
If they invade Gaza and kill every Hamas member, the level of slaughter and destruction wrought will be massive. The anger and hatred this will generate will produce an even worse enemy for Israel as history has shown.

Re: 40 Killed In Hamas Attacks In Israel
It's difficult not to form the opinion that a butchered child and mother in a residential suburb in Israel is given a higher 'status' than the same in a crumbling tower block in Gaza.
The recent events in Israel are beyond evil, but the wicked Hamas terrorists have their counterparts in the Ultra-Orthodox Jews in Israel.

Not sure why this triggered you, but just an innocent comment on IP addresses (that two other posters had brought up in the thread before me).

European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen condemned Putin's attack on Ukraine's electrical infrastructure last year.
However, she is currently supporting Israel's decision to impose a complete blockade on Gaza, depriving its residents of essential necessities such as food, water, fuel, and electricity.
