Sheyi Ojo as well
Woodburn is a gifted player, needs some first team football to kick on and be back in those Wales squads

Unbelievable how his career has stalled after he scored that winner against Austria. Definitely talented.

A member of Wales' Euro 16 squad, George Williams, is also available having just been released by Barrow. A pity his career hasn't worked out (so far).

Does that mean Joe Mason who scored against Liverpool is also talented?

Yes, clearly, Mason was a decent player.

“ The EFL publishes the list by the second Saturday in June which falls on June 11 this year.”
Looks like we’ll be finding out tomorrow.
Place your bets, is Ralls still a Bluebird?

Its obvious hes not on the retained list.
Doesnt mean he wont be a Bluebird next season.
The likelihood is we havent released the list as we were hoping to have some or maybe just one signed up between May and tomorrow's (I believe ) announcement.
Its not hard to work out who is on it.
Collins will be on it but im sure we would release him if we could.
Ralls wont be but im pretty certain we want him to stay.

Re: Bluebirds transfer rumours
Looks like Michael Smith is off to Hull, Morison had apparently really been pushing to sign him
I'm not exactly disappointed to miss out on Smith, 31 in October and never done particularly well at this level. In fact I'm quite concerned that we were interested in signing him

The attractive thing here is the fact we can get him for nothing but I'm not sure we would want to sign him on a 3 yr contract like O'Dowda so at his age length of contract would be a big factor as to where he ends up.

I guess there aren't that many proven(ish) goal scorers on a free. Would act as a good foil to Bale and Rambo :hehe:

wasn't that enthusiastic about that signing anyway.
that position will make or break our season I think.
would be very happy to get Hugill back of possible.

Re: Bluebirds transfer rumours
1 or preferably 2 goalscorers is probably going to be the most difficult position to fill with no budget. Perhaps this will be where loans come into play. Could get a youngster with talent, not a proven record though.

completely unrealistic but fun idea:
Roko Simic on loan from Saltzburg.
only 18 but scored 18 in 23 in the Spanish 2nd tier last season.
already on the radar of some giant clubs, depends if Saltzburg want to loan him out again at a higher level, or cash in or play him themselves.

Sounds good. Sign him up!

Re: Bluebirds transfer rumours
Goalscorers are the most difficult position to fill.
Also, if this is where we think we can exploit the loan market I think we will be disappointed.
Firstly, 'proven' goal scorers are not regularly available on loan. Secondly, unproven strikers (youngsters) coming on loan get recalled pretty quickly if they start banging them in, as goals are so sought after.
Depending on loans alone for our goals is in my opinion stupidity. That's why i think we need to splash out on at least one permanent striker and then perhaps consider a loan.

I agree, it would be a risky strategy.

Re: Bluebirds transfer rumours
Should be another 2 in next few days apparently. Our first loan and a player we were really close to signing (though not sure how public it went) under Neil Harris.
They're really keen to get as much wrapped as possible over next 10 days or so, ahead of a training camp.

Interesting that we are still targeting players from two managers ago. Not a dig just interesting as this implies they are club interests that the new manager supports
Does wrapping up everything in the next ten days include Bale and Ramsey 🤔🤔

Can't disagree about much here, however I would say that the area we need to strengthen, and have needed to for the last few seasons, is in the attacking midfield.
Creating chances allows strikers to score goals and, although I wouldn't pass up the chance of a proven goalscorer, a player comfortable on the ball who can pinpoint a pass would be my first choice.
Give any half decent striker enough chances he will get goals.
Oh for a McPhail or a Whittingham....
or a Ramsey!

One of them a Millwall, or former Millwall player, then?

If we signed a young striker on a half or full season loan how would the club recall the player part way through, if there was no recall clause, which is quite often the case with this type of longer term situation.

Probably shows Flints confidence that he can earn a longer stretch in the Championship. Or just cashing in on Championship wages while he can?
You just know he's going to score against us next season.

33 in July a 1 year championship deal seems sensible
