I personally heard you the first time.
Can't the rest of us discuss the positives and remain optimistic without the same curmudgeons rearing their heads to remind that in fact, no , we are completely ****ed and there is absolutely no hope whatsoever.
There are 3 of these, Hilts (easily the worst) Blue LewJ, and Sludge. They so want to be right about relegation they repeat their sorrowful message time after time. 2 of them would love us to go back to set piece scores only, Warnock and Gareth Stoker type "hoofball".
I wish they would shut up too, but they won't.

We play rubbish and win, city are shit
We play well and lose, city are shit
It’s the way of football.
Thought today was loads better, players were really working for each other, kaba looked lively. I thought in a short space of time the manager had made a good difference.
The number of set pieces wasted was the most frustrating thing for me. If he can spend some time on these then it could make a big difference

We do seem to have gone to shit at both ends of the pitch, set piece wise

I feel we/they have bought all the wrong players for all the wrong positions. There doesn't seem to a "head" that is saying we need this guy to feed off that guy...they just throw players at the team and hope somethings happens.
Like i do in any football manager game because i don't know what the feck i'm doing.

Re: HULL CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Decent performance today on the whole except SIMPSON / SAWYERS.....should never be near the first team.
Wintle also needs a rest....OJO tried hard as did Philogene...and I disagree with WOL that Kabe should have done better near the end...on his cameo he looked ok.
Terrible terrible penalty...I have noticed that when players look to left beforehand, they tend to miss....
We are not one of the worst three teams by any means...and I do see signs of improvement even at this early stage.
I cannot disagree with the decision not to include Colwill.....in the last home game he looked somewhat embarrassing....and his lack of challenge led to the goal. He is powderpuff and offers nothing positive. He is not fulfilling his supposed potential...he is just about 21 now.
Davies......The jury is out....he s not a game changer...BUT..he does offer effort and pace an not a little skill..so surprised he was not on the bench.

In a sea of shite which this league is we are a massive steaming TURD.
Bit early to be lobbing in the towel in my opinion. After all, the team isn't even in the relegation zone yet. That's amazing given how bad the current run has been, but it's true nonetheless.
Given the fixtures coming up during the next seven days, the table could look really ugly from City's perspective this time next week, and it will be no great surprise if it does. However, Lamouchi now has a full week to work with the team and with the new striker.
He has a major job on his hands, no doubt about that, but the fact that the side doesn't tend to concede many goals means nothing is a foregone conclusion at this stage.

We don't concede many goals because the opposition know that they usually won't have to score more than once to beat us.

The other thing is that we don't come out to play, we are tentative, unsure and unwilling at times, well. most of the time. There comes a time when we have to try and win football matches, but we look scared to try.

Our form is one of the worst in the league , we are 4th from bottom and one win will put us in the drop zone
We are about as near to being one of the worst three teams as we could be

I'll say our underlying problem - apart from the obvious - is lack of confidence. We haven't been scoring a lot since the start of the season but as soon as the goals dried up, confidence started to dip. And when confidence dips it's in front of goal where it has it's most dramatic effect. You can lose confidence as a side overall, but in defence and midfield the frenetic nature of play probably means you 're just focusing on the moment, but as soon as we're up the other end, we make wrong decisions, are hesitant, and to put it simply, bottle it. The four new signings last January changed the attitude and mentality of the side immediately. I don't think one signing [Kaba] is going to have too much effect. More likely he'll be caught up in the general mental malaise of the rest.

I’m saying much the same in the blog piece I’m writing now, the lack of confidence shows in many different ways, but, essentially, it boils down to players thinking about things they’d normally do naturally without a second’s thought.

Confidence is one thing but we’ve scored 21 goals all season. In our first 10 we scored 7. Confidence is low but we haven’t got the right blend of players. It’s a complete mess but we desperately needed that penalty to go in and take the pressure off. We don’t have the players to open sides up, and we don’t create chances to miss. In our predicament I think we have got to start getting the ball in the box, and that means getting pretty bloody horrible

Yeah, it's that simple, isn't it? There is no magic formula, haven't we seen enough of these players to know that they're not good enough, most of them individually and as a group? I can understand fans looking for reasons etc, but the fact is that the majority of the squad aren't good enough.

I don't think it necessarily has to be horrible either. That just means working it out to the flanks and providing Robinson and Sory with crosses. It doesn't even have to be 100% of the time. Maybe some long ball stuff as well.
The key is to keep the opposition defence guessing.

Yep. It doesn't really matter who is the manager when the players are so limited and we can't get any decent new signings. Most of the squad got multiple-year contracts last summer as well, so it's probably just delaying the inevitable if we are somehow able to avoid relegation this season.

Maybe we'll be good next year in League 1. I doubt it though. This team has no backbone.

I'd have Robinson delivering the ball, and getting in the box for the knockdowns etc. It has got to this stage. We have to get the ball in the box as much as possible. I think we need 7 wins, at the moment I don't think we'll score 7 goals.

The major job Sabri has is teaching the basics
5 yard passes
Marking your man from the correct side
Hitting the target in the box
Basically giving a shit and not being 2nd to every header or challenge.
This squad is wank to the core
I just can't see where it's coming from.
Sadly

This reminds me of the old, Malky was never in the bottom 3 argument even thought it was obvious we were dropping quickly and looked hopeless.

Blackpool haven't won a league game since October and have Mick McCarthy managing them. Huddersfield have been in the bottom three all season and there's a reason for that. Wigan have won once since mid-October.
Those three sides are very poor. City are also very poor, especially in attack. But the club has a new manager who has only been in the job for a week, so there's a possibility things might improve if he's any good.
It'll probably go to the wire, but there's nothing to suggest Wigan, Blackpool or Huddersfield are any more likely to start winning games than City. The bookmakers currently have Cardiff at 6/5 for relegation. I'd go evens. But not odds on.
-
Re: FT: HULL CITY 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I can certainly see us dropping into the bottom 3, but that doesn't automatically mean we'll stay there. There's still a third of the season left. We do need to start scoring sharpish, though, which is admittedly hard to see right now.

I don’t disagree.
It was more of a joke about the old question that Malik would have kept us up.
