Was Selles even consdered or interviewed, is he rulling himself of a job he wasn't going to get?
The rest looks like it's been picked up from message boards, twatter and Wales online.

Re: New manager speculation / rumours thread
I’d imagine the delay could be down to our preferred candidates holding out for something better - Buckingham is apparently wanted by Plymouth whilst the Bristol City job is likely to be available soon.

Seems to be more and more chat online that Ramsey will be getting it
Ah well, player contracts expire tomorrow, not like we need a manager to sort out who stays and goes, or who we'd like to target for a free transfer...

That will be a genuinely depressing outcome. None of the alleged candidates are especially inspiring, but Ramsey? Give me a ****ing break…

Shame, but he is good enough for the Championship. Hull are idiots for getting rid of him honestly. Maybe he goes to Wednesday?

Ramsey is now 12-1 they aren't putting their money on it.
Buckingham is 2-5.

It just shows how ITK rumours trigger these odds.
While Id prefer Ramsey of the what looks the short list if he is appointed then why all this delay and paying people to find us a manager.
I just can't see it being Ramsey and the former manager of Mumbai City is the likeliest.

Re: New manager speculation / rumours thread
You do realise the bit of paper waiting for Tan’s attention is sitting in a pile, underneath important business, like: who is going to run the Starbucks in NW Kuala Lumpur; who can sort out that casino in Malacca; where can I build a HQ to rival Donald Trump’s?
“Cardiff who!?”

It's very concerning if someone in the club's hierarchy thinks that appointing someone other than a relative novice doesn't require a structural revamp then Tan has learnt nothing or he's incredibly stupid as it's gone beyond stubbornness now.

There is of course the possibility that a major restructure is being put in place with football people being put on the board and a really ambitious and talented managerial set up about to be appointed.
Or they've learned nothing and we are about to appoint a cheap out of contract cast off from Oxford or Bolton or someone already at the club.
I guess we will soon find out.

That BBC article and the fab minutes gives me the impression the only thing that has changed is maybe the quality of recruitment options being put to tan (or at least the process to identify them). Beyond that it's still just one guy on the other side of the world playing an outdated version of football manager.

Nathan Jones odds are shortening. In to 8-1 from 33-1.

Re: New manager speculation / rumours thread
Nathan Jones will be odds on by the end of the day.
I think Buckingham is who they have as back up but are speaking to nathan jones as the number 1. We may lose Buckingham to Plymouth though but worth the wait for jones.
Logically nathan jones won't and shouldn't take it. But he's just about mad enough to.
-
Re: New manager speculation / rumours thread
Could end up with neither their "no 1 target " or their backup.

So, we’re going for a guy who was out of work and had spoken of his desire to manage us at the time we appointed Bulut? Also, with the club talking of their desire to integrate Academy graduates into the first team, does Nathan Jones have any history of promoting youth into the senior side? Maybe he has done at Charlton, but I’m not aware of him having done so at Luton.
I’m not against Nathan Jones coming here (there’s been times when he’s been my number one choice for the job), but we don’t half make things tough for ourself!

I'd doubt Nathan Jones would have applied while involved in a promotion play off, and now Charlton are up, why would he drop down a league ? True, he's a City fan and obviously has an affinity to the area but he knows that it a couple of years he could be living in Huddersfield. I doubt it's Ramsey either. My guess is it's someone a bit more high profile who wants his own team around him.

Edit : Just been reading previous comments from Nathan Jones which confirms he would love to manage his home town club, so maybe it's down to sorting contractual and coaching staff arrangements.

Re: New manager speculation / rumours thread
Money talks.
It's a big if. But if we really want Nathan Jones we'd probably get him. It would probably cost a lot of money now though.

Re: New manager speculation / rumours thread
Paul Abbandonato reckons we'll be happy with our number 1 target. (Has he met some of us?). That kind of thing can be patronising, like when we were told we'd love Gareth Stoker. Oh my, it's gonna be Gareth Stoker.

Abbandonato said the fans would love the new approach of buluts 2nd season! I challenged him on that after bulut had gone and he said he was assured by the club the 2nd season would be positive and attacking but he didn't deliver so they sacked him.
He's such a club mouthpiece

Abbandonota has little idea who our number 1 target is.
If he did he'd name him.

He wouldn't to be fair. He just likes to cover all bases.
Eg the new manager will be one of the main 2or 3 names linked but it could also be an outsider who hasn't been linked much. That's an example of a recent tweet. All bases covered there paul!

Re: New manager speculation / rumours thread
Mood music is pointing towards Ramsey.

Re: New manager speculation / rumours thread
It's very easy to find reasons against managerial candidates if you look hard enough but the club has to find someone and surely Nathan Jones must be as good as we are likely to get even though it's difficult to imagine him agreeing to come.
