I know that he is trying to sell tickets, but last few years but hasn’t he tried to manage expectation levels the last few years?
Don't forget to take advantage of the early bird pricing, only one week left!

Whitehead off to Watford apparently.

Probably a 5 or 6/10. This is a privately-held company with one shareholder. We have a board, in a single ownership, it’s difficult. I’ve done it before. You can only recommend and execute.
Everything else in the middle is not the board’s decision. How well have I judged myself recommending, probably more than five or six, what about executing that recommendation? Well, that last 18 months I sort of gave up. Now this is a new incentive for me. I have a consistent team here and Ken and I work very well, within the remit of our owner. I am re-engaging myself because this man (Erol) is here.
Dalman
This was the stunning one of many admissions by Dalman - lost interest in the last 18 months but still collected his salaty and interest on his loans
If he lost interest then not surprised others did as well - surely he is supposed to be a leader and I appreciate the modern way is for leaders to show their vulnerabilities but come on admitting he lost interest
How he thinks the club is stable off it but isn't on the pitch - at a real push I would have thought it was the other way round??

Who knows? No guarantees. Vincent will always be Vincent and do what he wants. He is the one driving this. He is the one who made the decision to do this.
One of the things we always fail on with this club is being able to manage upwards. Every manager that comes on board, I tell them to ring Vincent, not me. He believes he understands football. One of the first things I said to Erol was to be involved and be part of it. I think as long as we work with Vincent as an integral part of decision making, I’m pretty confident of that.
Dalman
I think that whole quote encapsulates the key problem at the club

Re: New Manager appointed. EROL BULUT
I haven't really looked into Dalman's role too deeply, assuming he has some money in the club?
His comments seem to be increasingly derogatory regards Tan. Not that it's wrong but surprising considering Tan is apparently so ruthless. Can only assume he knows he isn't going anywhere.
Bizarre comments from a chairman at a press conference.

Re: New Manager appointed. EROL BULUT
Here's the full Q&A which is better than the live blog where they obviously are rushing as they're typing:
https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...-fire-27057817
It's three backroom staff coming in, not two:
The backroom staff?
EB: It will be an assistant, performance coach and a goalkeeper coach. But also in a few days, we will discuss with Mehmet (Dalman) about that.
MD: We won't release the names yet, because they haven't signed their contracts and we don't want to breach their confidentiality. But it's three all together.

Dalman
That is so sad to read. An autocrat & it seems no one has any influence on him.

Re: New Manager appointed. EROL BULUT
City fans are so beaten down that they’ll struggle to get excited about any signing. Robbie Fowler part two. As much as I love him Rambo doesn’t excite me, simply because he’s past his best but is injury prone and won’t last a month in the Championship.
-
Re: New Manager appointed. EROL BULUT
The full press conference is on the City website now, it's worth a watch for Mehmet Dalman's very frank answers to some of the questions and the reaction to one or two of the things he says.

Even if we got half a season out of him he would be miles ahead of what we got.

Re: New Manager appointed. EROL BULUT
Anyone who's had stick for their less than enthusiastic support for us in the last 18 months is now in good company. I can only assume some of the cheerleaders on this forum will be scalding Dalman at the earliest opportunity. What a club - even the chairman thinks Tan is a pain in the arse. :hehe:

Re: New Manager appointed. EROL BULUT
What we know about this mystery player:
- Big name to sell season tickets
- Free/loan signing
- Club was working on it "regardless" of manager - not necessarily Bulut-related (e.g. Ozil)

it does at least mean that we now know for certain that dml1954 is not Mehmet Dalman

Re: New Manager appointed. EROL BULUT
I thought the manager came across well, speaks well, bit of character. Of course no one knows what’s going to happen or how the season will pan out. Glad to see we are at least trying something different.

That was worth watching. I thought the manager was quietly impressive. Whether he's going to be up to the job is another matter, but I already prefer listening to him than listening to Morison, Hudson or Lamouchi.
The club's media department appear to have edited out some of Dalman's revelations, though. No surprise there, because those tell us plenty about the situation at CCFC in recent times:
"This is a privately-held company with one shareholder. We have a board, in a single ownership, it’s difficult. I’ve done it before. You can only recommend and execute. The fact the Chairman of a Championship club is prepared to publicly make such admissions should be staggering, but the truth is it was easy to see that Dalman had effectively lost interest and that he and the owner were not on the same page. That much was obvious from the podcast he did last summer, and from some of his comments during meetings with fans over the last couple of years.
I don't like Dalman, but I do have a degree of sympathy for him. During a one-to-one meeting in the CCS boardroom back in 2012, a former City CEO told me Vincent Tan is far and away the most difficult person he's ever had to work with. Dalman's revelations are therefore no great surprise. I bet some fans will find them hard to swallow, though.

For me disappointed we didn't get a "bodies in the building" or "on the grass" or "buying into what we are trying to do here" - it's not the same without a mighty cliche 😂
Agree with ykur Dalman conclusion as to his off message comments - said as much in a different post - in most jobs of that standing you don't wash your dirty linen in public - you have your debate behind closed doors and unless your on message publicly you get up and leave the organisation
For him to say it is stable off the pitch is laughable

Bulut will have to learn quickly that players here need to want to be a part of it and go though their protocols before they can be considered fit to wear the shirt (quite literally).
What a club, though. This time last year, Morison was gibbering on about how the set-up that had been created behind the scenes would mean that any transition to a new manager would be easy as everything was in place. Fast forward twelve months and the CEO says: "We are in transition. We are trying to start afresh. A completely different direction, this is a wildcard."
:hehe:

How can you look at that list and not think that Nathan Jones is the logical pick.
Bulut is literally a gamble when we cannot afford one.
I’m actually looking forward to the season as it’s going to be a silly one. Random players that I’ve never heard of and potentially a manager who’s going to be different to any before him. But that is because it’s a soap opera, rather than actual progression of the club.
