UK to deploy royal naval ships to support Israel. No mention of sending aid to the Poor people who are being bombed to oblivion.

Correction: we have evolved in the sense that we have devised even more efficient ways of killing folk en masse than ever before in human history. What a noble achievement.

As sure as night follows day the UK sleepwalks into the fire on the coat tails of America
We have already stirred up bad feelings by going full square behind Israel
Now we are helping them out in a military sense
Turn out the lights

It won't be possible to deliver aid without the Israeli government granting it.
-
Re: 40 Killed In Hamas Attacks In Israel
Pretty standard for navy's to reposition ships closer to events. It's the sensible thing to do. Be it military assistance, diplomacy, aid, support, morale, logistics, evacuations etc.
They are doing their job.

Absolutely appalling, we should be ashamed.

Nonsense. What is your problem with the following?
"track threats to regional stability such as the transfer of weapons to terrorist groups".
"military support would "prevent further escalation".
"deliver practical support to Israel and partners in the region, and offer deterrence and assurance"
"Our military and diplomatic teams across the region will also support international partners to re-establish security and ensure humanitarian aid reaches the thousands of innocent victims of this barbaric attack from Hamas terrorists,"

Why don't our military ensure humanitarian aid reach thousands of innocent victims in Palestine?

We appear to be best mates with Israel
There is being appalled by these terrible attacks and opening ourselves up to criticism and accusations of bias
The UN say there is already a humanitarian crisis in Palestine
It could be argued we are opening ourselves up to criticism and possibly the target for extremists

What makes you think that won't be part of the role?

If the UK government were sending forces out there as a joint peacekeeping force then that's neutral
As it is we appear to be propping up that nutter Netanyahu

Firstly, it does if you consider Palestinians to be victims of Hamas, which they also are.
But not everything they do will be in an initial press release.
They definitely can't help with humanitarian aid from the mid Atlantic or Devonport dockyard or anywhere else.
The vast majority of Royal Navy operations are not warfare based. I wouldnt jump to conclusions about what they will do there.

What part of they are there to support Israel that you can't grasp? There is no mention of the UK helping the defenceless people being slaughtered

That is true - as it is for most of the EU and other 'western' states and their main allies.
However, it is noticeable that Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State - whilst giving 100% support to Israel and denouncing Hamas - has given a strong message about not committing war crimes and targeting civilians (directly or indirectly): ' How Israel defends itself matters....'.
His joint press conference with Netanyahu had a different tone from the cheerleading we saw from Cleverly and Van de Leyden.
It may not make any difference to the latest Palestinian victims - but it is a slightly more balanced message than what we saw from our own Foreign Secretary. His comment on running for cover when an air raid siren went off - on the day that over 200 children were amongst the latest victims of Israeli attacks in Gaza - was sickening.

One of the most bizarre takes on 'in other words' I've ever heard.

The Royal Navy are very often pretty close to the scene in these situations. As stated, there a vast array of functions they serve and it's right they have a presence nearby.
This idea they will be using force to stop any aid going to Palestine or using military force against them is simply not true.

You might think it's right I think we should be well out of the theatre of conflict
Getting involved on the side of Israel is not going to end well
It's not playing soldiers and jelly and custard
