Seems like each new accusation is more tenuous than those that have come before. Feel sorry for the police officers who have to waste their time on this, I'm sure there's plenty of far more worthy 'crimes' they would rather be investigating

Just heard SWP have been in contact with the MET.

I did wonder if they were going to say anything on the news last night, they referred to the “covid restrictions in England” I did wonder if they would mention Wales at all. I guess he lives in London anyway.

I bet Phillip Schofield is glad of the break.

Who or where did you just hear it from ?
I can see this going nowhere.... the person in the pics - seems to indicate they dont want to take it any further. The parents I dont believe have the right to start a prosecution.
BBC guidelines may have been broken - but that isn't a criminal offence.
What I'm saying if there is no chance of a conviction and what happened wasnt illegal - then the BBC have a duty of care not to release a name. Thinking here of Cliff Richard, Paul Gambuccini, Tony Blackburn etc.
The BBC themselves have been shown to offer up fake texts as genuine - for them to subsequently realise they didnt check if they were fake or not - Panorama (that cost John Sweeney his job).
For once - I can understand the dilemma the bbc are in - albeit - it's a farce - as everyone knows who it is.

I'm just updating the latest developments as reported by the BBC and other media organisations, I'm not try to minimise what any anybody has done like some people are doing, or blaming one side for causing the problem. If Person X is a top person at the BBC who has the trust of the country, the reputational damage will be huge if there is any truth to any of these allegations.

I'd be pissed off if a person in a position of authority on the TV was telling me to follow the rules, while they themselves were breaking them, and that also goes for people like Johnson, Hancock & Ferguson, etc.

Re: Gary Lineker, Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine rule themselves out of being the latest BBC pervert
Well i hope that shit hole of a newspaper is sued by Huw.
No criminal activite was found by the police.

Re: Gary Lineker, Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine rule themselves out of being the latest BBC pervert
He's been admitted to a psychiatric unit
If this is because of the stress and its proved in time he's innocent I hope the sun gets absolutely shafted

Re: Gary Lineker, Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine rule themselves out of being the latest BBC pervert
Damn ! I was hoping for what probably would have been the most surreal moment ever on TV history - a newsreader presenting a news item of which he was singularly involved !

Re: Gary Lineker, Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine rule themselves out of being the latest BBC pervert
No indication that a criminal case has been committed.
In her statement, Vicky Flind said her husband Huw Edwards was "suffering from serious mental health issues" and is now "receiving in-patient hospital care where he will stay for the foreseeable future" as she asked for privacy for her family.

Well, if it's not him who is "the latest BBC pervert"?
-
Re: Gary Lineker, Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine rule themselves out of being the latest BBC pervert
If this was an episode of Black Mirror, Huw would be presenting the news with the lead story being his wife reading the statement.

Re: Gary Lineker, Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine rule themselves out of being the latest BBC pervert
Can’t help but feel he’s been stitched up and now everyone’s trying to get the pretty penny. I hope he goes after The Sun.
Police say nothing to answer.

He didn’t make the rules.

I hope he sues the Sun and News UK out of existence.

Re: Gary Lineker, Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine rule themselves out of being the latest BBC pervert
Glad the press, media and gossip mongers have seen a man admitted to hospital with a breakdown. They can now sneer at his character flaws and think how great they are not to have any. Who’s next week’s target going to be?

He was relaying the news not telling you what to do.
Don't shoot the messenger.

Well the OP who gave this thread its headline also said "I know more than I am letting on, but this could potentially be devastating for the BBC if it plays out in a certain way". So I guess he has the source material to spill the beans.
