Our wage bill is enormous, this is a fallacy that we are doing it on the cheap. Also, everyone is skint. Nobody is spending money and we've spent 3m on Turnbull and Horvath. The objective wasn't just to stay up either. That's why he got the job.

If the objective was to go up, I'm not holding this seasons effort against Bulut.

Did we really spent 3m on two players out of contract in the summer? I have huge doubts on that.
I’ve seen the 2m bouncing around n turnbull but surely it was a minimal fee with add ons if he does well. Same with the keeper.

The initial fee for Turnbull was around £500k with hefty additional payments

At 24 I don’t think that’s a bad fee but he needs to do a hell of a lot more in the final third for an attacking midfielder.

One last word from me...I hope the players take a good long hard look at themselves after that awful performance...

Re: FT: SWANSEA CITY 2 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I take it Bulut won’t be off to Man Utd.

Bulut now needs to do the same....there is nothing to play for this season...give our youngsters a chance to sink or swim.
Bit of a long shot for Bulut, playing a CRFC novice but, hey ho, let’s give it a go.

He might as well have started a novice on the right wing for all the use that Bowler is.
It was like playing with 10 men from the start
Awful footballer, sadly we have too many that either don’t care or don’t want to know.
If Bulut stays, and I’m not that bothered either way atm, we can’t have bottlers like Bowler, Wintle and Turnbull starting in important games
Not that any of them will give a toss, but we really do have some shit houses in our squad

Re: FT: SWANSEA CITY 2 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
A truly awful performance but my overriding conclusion is that they wanted it more than us.

Said it once and I’ll say it again, Oli Tanner is no where near being a championship player

Diedhiou and Turnbull only arrived 6 weeks ago. You work with what you have, the players that have featured most prominently wouldn't be picked up by a team pushing for promotion, which we never were, because of the embargo. Simple as that.
I don't expect us to sign like madmen this summer, but we will have more free reign to sign players Bulut actually wants. I do agree tactically he has been exposed a few times this season, but he's also done a number on a few teams.
Not hard to outthink when issues have been the same ones since the start of the season
We must be the most predictable team in the championship

That was shit today, very shit. But let's keep it in perspective. 4 wins followed by a defeat. Neither team is going anywhere this year, but they arguably he more to play for, other than the obvious derby bragging rights. That win puts them safe I think whereas before they might have been looking down the table
-
Re: FT: SWANSEA CITY 2 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
we just seem to have the misfortune of our bogey side also being one of our local rivals..
i'm not looking into it any deeper than that, after four wins on the bounce prior to this utter collapse in shape there is no other logical explanation.

Re: FT: SWANSEA CITY 2 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Think we should the game to bed. We've had a decent run and are safely in midtable.
Bulut needs to give the couple of youngsters who have promise a start and quietly ease out those who won't be with us next season.
Not a massive fan of Bulut, he has made a lot of mistakes, perhaps many due to his lack of understanding of the Championship, but we could do far worse than offering him a contract for next year.

I’m not sure I’m prepared to be bored out of my mind for 75 minutes each game under Bulut before they kick into gear, usually throwing the last dice because we are behind.

Would definitely give him the summer and a season to see how things go
I think he's worked well with most of what he's got but there are some complete duds in the squad

Depends I suppose though?
Do we know if sabri was actually offered one or had any discussions.or did he walk or was he pushed with no discussions?
Same with bulut he may feel his stock has risen now so may ask for a much improved deal. Probably not as simple as ordering an extension on same terms and all done.

Whats the problem? Don't we normally lose to Swansea.
We've won twice since 2014

Neither is Colwill. Why don't we all just admit it? Same with Rambo. He's done. We need to move on.

Never rated Colwill as much as others personally. He’s improved massively season thought and really not sure of peoples issue now.

Why should we all just admit something that is not true?
Colwill is a Championship player. He has been our best player a handful of times this season.
He has weaknesses - but not as many as at the start of the season. He seems unable to perform for 90 + 5 minutes, but again is getting fitter than last season ir the start of this one.
He is not a kid any more, but there is no reason with good coaching and experience he cannot develop into a top Championship player!

Two moments in isolation. We've now had more time to judge him. He's simply not Championship standard.

As Jon says, this is just not true. Ramsey was an absolute joke against WBA away for example.

I like how Wintle's supporters (a dying breed) say that he... "Does a lot of the unseen donkey work".
Yeah, right!

Wintle belongs with the Donkeys at Blackpool, it’s about his level (on a good day)

I disagree
He's a tidy , basic footballer
Just in front of the back four he does a good job
It's rambo and his absence that renders us losers in games like yesterday

Basic is right. He’s too slow to close attackers down or break the lines but he’s not technically good enough to pull the strings or drop the ball into the correct places.
He’s fine but wouldn’t look a cut above in a league below.

There was a moment in the early stages of the game when a Swansea defender's pass, of only about 15 metres, was under hit. It was there for the taking by Wintle, he had momentum going towards the ball. We could have benefitted from the mistake, got the home fans on the player's back etc. But no, Wintle was just too slow to react and jogged towards the loose ball, where it was retrieved by a Swansea player.
Moments like that can sway the feeling within the ground amongst the home fans, but Wintle didn't have it in him.

We conceded a corner after 15 seconds, when we had kick off. The writing was on the wall way before that. Wintle isn’t a great player at this level but Bulut gave him a new deal.

Re: FT: SWANSEA CITY 2 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
This thread is always hilarious when 90% of the forum goes into meltdown mode. Always blaming players who perform ok for not doing good and completely overlooking the regular offenders because its a bit embarrassing to point out the obvious (ok. perhaps im giving you a bit too much credit)
Ultimately, why dont we start the same way we finish each game? Why does it take 75 minutes to bring on the clear A-Team to get the job done? What is bulut thinking when he goes in half time after that dross?
Too many questions to "crucify" bulut on yet again and tbh over the last bunch of winning games. He is being carried by the 75th minute boys

The entire midfield looked like they had no idea whether to press or sit in yesterday, not sure if they were rattled or Bulut tried to tweak it. You’d hope that wasn’t the case after it looked the best it has all season vs Ipswich
Turnbull notably looked like he had no clue what he was doing out there, which then led Wintle and Siopis chasing shadows for most of the game as it was so easy for Swansea to play through the lines in the first half.

Because teams start to sit back and let us have it. We look decent because we have to chuck men forward as we’ve got no other option and it can be effective.
