Scotland were better off with the cancellation

Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
Japan would be a great addition to the four nation Southern Hemisphere tournament and, on this evidence, would be very competitive in it as well. Maybe there was an element of Scotland making them look good in that first half, but it looked like step up from what they did against Ireland and I wouldn't rule out a Japan v Wales semi final.

I thought they were terrific against Ireland too. Ireland were lucky to get a losing bonus point.

I do feel you always pick up on the negatives Bob.
We are current Grand Slam champions, have topped a group with Australia in it, and are in the qtr finals of the World Cup.
Today wasn’t pretty, but we did what needed doing, and didn’t get any injuries.
Give them a break!

We will see a very different team and a very different performance against France, Just disappointing to see a number of quality players performing so badly.

Are Scotland still going to sue?

Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
Brilliant fourth try, Japan through the QF.
Really enjoying this game, Japanese handling is excellent and there have been very few kicks.

Yeah fair play. Missed the opening 25 but they’ve been brilliant.

But it’s not just the passer is it. It was a timing thing. The over eagerness was largely due to the receiver getting there too early.

Currently 28 - 21
Scotland need to win by more than 7 points

No offence to our Scottish cousins but it would be great for the tournament if Japan make it.

Score still the same.
Only 4 1/2 mins left.

Well done Japan. Chuffed to bits for those supporters in this difficult weekend.

FT: Japan 28 - 21 Scotland.
Fabulous

Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
Excellent game for the neutral, disappointing that the Scots are going home and not the Irish, well not totally neutral 😂!!!!
-
Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
Japan have played some great rugby in all games
-
Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
What a game for any neutrals. Japan looked to be overpowering Scotland but then the Scots came right back at them. Deserved victory in the end for Japan and Scotland get sent home to think again.

This has been such a low quality game. Credit England for taking the early chances - and weathering this comeback tho
-
Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
Clinical performance by England. Australia trying to force it and made lots of errors.
-
Re: Rugby Word Cup 2019 thread.
Aussies played rugby in the wrong areas and straight into England's hands. The All Blacks will be a totally different proposition.

Japan is in the northern hemisphere and much closer to the 6 Nations countries than to South Africa or Argentina.
Maybe the 8 Nations is on the way (with Japan and Georgia joining).
