Didn't know they'd reopened their Academy, we used to play under 18 and 21 games against them every season. Sounds like they're admitting they made a mistake in closing it in the first place, but I see they've still got a B team, rather than an Under 21 side - truth be told, I wouldn't be too bothered if City scrapped their under 21 team for all of the good it does.

Ah OK. Still, none for a while then. I'm not sure it's the greatest move for him, other clubs give a lot more chances to young players.

Presumably his contract is up in the summer, so I can’t see there being much of a fee involved.

We need a keeper if Runarsson is going to be released from his loan and I assume Horvarth would be first choice, but is he that much better than Alnwick? I honestly don’t know because he didn’t make much impression on me last season when he was at Luton - can’t remember him having much to do in his two games against us, he was beaten from a long way out by Sawyers down here, but it didn’t strike me as a goalkeeping error at the time.

Was thinking the same. Would be 3 loan spots available then with Panzo and Ugbo already gone. That could be the route this window is heading.

Played almost every game in their promotion season so can't be too bad.
Won a penalty shootout at Wembley to clinch promotion (although as I recall Coventry scored their 1st 5 then skied one.)

Exactly, we have little chance of going up this season. Let's not fill the squad with expensive gambles who could blight future recruitment/budgets

He’s played for some big clubs and the Style of play entry here makes him sound too good for us.

Used to watch him when he was Roma, quality player, but that was 5 years ago and more.

This is what i think, although relegation still isn't out of the question for us. Especially the way we're playing

I wouldn’t have thought so. He struggled before he left and hasn’t done anything on loan. Probably be pushing to start in the U23.

Did he struggle? He played a few games towards the end of the season Morison was in charge when the team were on holiday after making sure they were staying up - can’t remember him setting the world on fire or struggling really.

No, I don’t think so, I believe he was injured at the start of the season, but I may be confusing it with 22/23.

I know having no more fixtures this month reduces the need for quick signings, but if someone told me that at the end of the fourth week of January that we wouldn’t have signed a new player for this season’s team, I would never have believed them - the title thread is as appropriate now as it was when the thread was started.

Was just about to post the same thing. This is a new level of underwhelming even by our standards. I thought they were all gagging to get on the CCS grass and in the building.
