Christians have been doing that for almost 2000 years, well spotted.
If His Word is quoted appropriately then there's no issue, if it's simply someone's opinion then it's probably irrelevant.

This is why it is impossible to have a discussion with you,you are correct all of the time very predictable.

It's God's Word to His Church:
"If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen" - 1 Peter 4:11

So it is your opinion - and just as irrelevant (and nonsensical) as you promised.

Thanks for confirming (once again) that God's Word is true*
* "For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but it is the power of God to us who are being saved" (1 Cor.1:18).
As usual your god will need you to say something belittling as he usually does asap when the words he detests are mentioned.....

And right on time.
It's always a bad day in every cult, little do they know that they are as lost as you are.

Well maybe you know more about God's Word than you realise; ultimately your argument is not with me but with him. Personally like most people, I am often mistaken, so because of that I aim to present His comments on the issues raised, so it is He that is "correct all of the time", I would be careful not to suggest that His wisdom and insight are my own; I have always (without fail) discovered it to be true, insightful and able to answer all the important questions that people ask.

I know I said I was done with this conversation, but this short, concise video just appeared on YouTube that neatly summarizes where my head’s at in terms of reality. Consider this my parting gift for this thread with apologies for the usual AI-generated presentation that is all too prevalent these days. But the content is solid.

All of that appears to be true. But I thought it was an interesting story that belongs in this thread - and one that has moved on in the past 18 months.

Without an accompanying excerpt from a holy book your above contribution is meaningless :hehe:

Good point. Well made. How about this?
"And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the living creatures that He has scattered through them: and He has power to gather them together when He wills"
Quran/Koran (Surah 42:29)
And as an added bonus it has got lots of capital 'h's
Or maybe this from The Book:
“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule.”
The Return Of The King (Gandalf).
Or even:
"For when the Gods made man, they let death be his lot, Eternal life they withheld. Let your every day be full of joy, love the child that holds your hand. Let your wife delight in your embrace. For these alone are the concerns of man"
The Epic Of Gilgamesh

I'll raise you:
"Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass."

Ah yes, the Book of Benjamin Netanyahu (aka God Loves A Genocide).
I think I'll have to fold at this point. The pot is yours.

You die, you’re dead, you’re done. That’s it.
Heaven sounds grim. Tugging eachother off about how great god is and singing hymns 24/7? No thanks, stick me in an urn or chuck my ashes in some park I once liked. Happy days.

Just remember - none of the sciences (physics, biology, chemistry) can explain consciousness. Furthermore, consciousness is known to have a direct influence on reality (e.g. dual slit experiment).
So, two of the biggest unanswered questions in science involve consciousness. If you consider matter is a bi-product of consciousness and not the other way around, you can start to explain these problems.
You can try experiencing the astral plane for yourself. Everyone has this capability. Plenty of information out there.

It's true that we don't currently fully understand the notion of consciousness but it's a possibility that we might in due course. A hundred years ago there was little understanding of brain waves and which parts of the brain are stimulated in various circumstances. The word science relates to knowledge and it's not for science to explain 'to explain' things but for us to try our best in understanding the world around us. Unlike religious zealots, good scientists are prepeared to take on board new data and change their views accordingly - as ignoring data simply means that we go to the grave being idiots. Similarly, if the concepts that interest you hold water and can be peer-reviewed by the scientific community (as it is a tad more authoritive that Youtubers and the like) they will be brought into the scientific fold. The last thing anyone intelligent wants to do is to perceive 'science' as the antithesis of an unshakable dogma of any kind and the scientific community as being a conspiracy body. To imagine that all reputable scientists have a vested interest in denying what is true is as disingenuous as thinking that the Bible is univocal and that everything in it is factually true. Yes, some so-called cientists can make mistakes, fake evidence and be driven by ego (as they are human beings) but one has to have faith in the vast majority of that cohort who have integrity and whose work is not only peer-reviewed, repeatable when duplicated by others and improved upon and/or corrected by later and moreinformative data received.
Aside from governments suppressing data for their own purposes, what concepts do you consider to be of value and which aren't widely accepted by the scientific community? And why do you think that would be?
-
Re: "I'm convinced that death is not the end for us whatever happens after that"
Correction:
For:
"The last thing anyone intelligent wants to do is to perceive 'science' as the antithesis of an unshakable dogma of any kind and the scientific community as being a conspiracy body."
Read:
"The last thing anyone intelligent wants to do is to perceive 'science' as the same as an unshakable dogma of any kind and the scientific community as being a conspiracy body.
Changing one's viewpoint due to new data discovered is the antithesis of most adherents of religions do, of course.

Sure, mainly because it highlights how excited humans can get about things that are still:
maybe
possibly
may have
potentially
could mean that
And how far they will go to avoid a proper examination of evidence that is said to be irrefutable because they really don't like where that evidence would take them!
So yes, I agree with your decision to include it.
Here is a starting point for those who want to look at the most important weekend in history.

There are so many ways to look at this, so please give me one (or a few) area/s of science/ history/ mathematics etc that we can examine that interest you the most?

The Bible has no version of molecules to Man.
Neither does any verified science confirm the idea that is macro evolution.
