I really like the look of Joe Low.
He seems so composed.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Finished 2-1 to Denmark. A goal right at the death sealed their win, but Cian Ashford, on as a late sub, scored with the last kick 9f the game after the keeper made a great save to keep out Colwill’s free kick.

Denmark are a good team but Wales weren't blown away the way I thought might've been early on. I think this is as promising an under 21 side as we've had for a while and a few of these will go on to play for the seniors (well 3 already have by my count)

Thought Wales played better tonight than they did in beating Iceland on Thursday. It looks a better than usual squad, but, like plenty of other current Welsh squads, it lacks a natural goalscorer. I think I’m right in saying that we’ve scored eight times in five matches with four of them coming from City number ten types and I believe Low has two of the others.
Just checked, Low only has one of the eight goals, the three in Lithuania were scored by Luke Harris, Fin Stevens and Cotterill, so none of the goals have come from a striker.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Robbie Savage was sat in front of us and was a fair sport for folk wanting their pictures taken with him.

I don't think much of Josh Thomas who's played up front for most of the campaign. Joe Taylor who started last night has 7 goals and 2 assists this season for Colchester and has Championship and League 1 experience (believe he had a goal disallowed for Luton in the playoff final?). Then there's Popov who is a bit more imposing but only 19, think there was some fear he'd switch to Bulgaria

That’s the same score that Belgium beat Gilraltar? So, the whole group boiled down to that 91st minute goal we got against the Belgians didn’t it.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
5-5! U21s v Charlton.
Kavanagh, Joel Colwill (2), Antwi & an OG. Ashford sent off near the end.

Highlights of this game now on the club website - disappointing that we twice had two goal leads and got hauled back. Ashford got a str4aight red card, so a three game ban for him if there's no appeal procedure - not sure any appeal would succeed anyway.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
on the off chance that anyone on here was going to attend today's under 18s game with QPR at Leckwith, don't bother - it's been postponed.
-
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
City's under 21s face "crisis club" Swansea at Leckwith today, kick off 2 o clock with the usual free entry and streamed coverage.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
City 1-0 up through a good goal by James Crole.
-
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Great twenty five yard free kick by Antwimakes it 2-0 after a lot of Swansea possession.
-
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
2-0 to City at the interval.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Joel Colwill makes it 3-0 with another fine finish after City had spent large portions of the second half pinned back in their own penalty area. Swansea down to ten men after one of their players was shown a second yellow card.

Fulham are third in the PL2, ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool, so 'very tough' sums it up. Not that you don't learn plenty about players from games like this, whatever the result, so it should be interesting. In comparison to recent first team games it'll definitely be interesting.
Not sure about a stream yet - my match report will make you feel like you'd been there even if there isn't one.

There’s something on You Tube which suggests it’s being streamed - surprised it’s not being played at CardiffCity Stadium.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Just to echo your thoughts Bob it is going to be very tough
It is being played at the CCS ⚽️👍

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
It is at Leckwith according to the official site not the CCS
-
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
This is confusing
Just to clarify the game was listed as being played at Leckwith Stadium but the powers that be changed it to being played at the CCS
The venue has now been moved BACK to Leckwith Stadium
Fulham lie third in their Category 1 league while Cardiff lie third in their respective Category 2 league
It’ll be a tough but interesting watch 👍

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
For anyone interested, there is a stream of tonight’s game on You Tube - no commentary on it yet though.
-
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Well, it’s got a commentary now, trouble is it’s an interview with Rubin Colwill.
0-0 after twenty minutes with City settling into the game now after Fulham dominated the opening exchanges.

We've lost the scoreboard now

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
City score through Trey George, 1-0.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
1-0 (I think) to Cardiff! Great move from back to front finished off by Trey George

I think it's fair to say it was against the run of play, but what an excellent move

Yeah, Fulham have had most of the play, but it was a well put together move - like the look of the holding midfielder Barton.
-
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Very soft and unnecessary penalty for Fulham which is saved by Armstrong!

Top save and a very soft penalty. Hanging on a little at the end there. Fulham (obviously) a good side but City look decent as well
-
Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
1-0 at half time, City hanging on a bit in the minutes before the break, but, Fulham, who have lost their last three matches, might be beginning to think it’s going to be one of those nights for them.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
Equaliser for Fulham midway through the second half - shame, we’d been the better side this half.

Good goal to be fair. I wish the commentator would shut up, constantly tempting fate
