Simple as that really.

So why now, especially so soon after a big dose of ****off medicine through Sky? Is The club rattled and has Tan realised that the only way that the club will prosper is through a united fanbase? I'm a bit of a cynic, but I can't understand why this meeting is being called so soon after Tan relayed such a definitive message to supporters.
Maybe he's reached 'Alf Sherwood's' legendary tipping point 😬

Also the message board & social media talk of multiple protests/demonstrations coming up.

Re: Meeting-Out of the Blue!
Increasingly empty stands as the season wears on coupled with a dismal atmosphere around the club and widespread talk of thousands of fans not renewing for 2015/16. Simple as that, I reckon.
It's no coincidence that the supporters are being called in a few days after a record low attendance at the CCS. Regardless of the competition and other factors like Friday night, live on TV, etc, the sight of just 3,500 fans at the stadium for a first team fixture will have rung alarm bells for everyone at the club, including the Emperor.
Finally the fans refuse to turn up in decent numbers for a game. Finally Tan gets rattled. Who'd have thought it, huh?

We've come a long way since that infamous Tuesday night against Brighton.

The irony is however that is is simple apathy, much of it emanating from poor football (fans giving up and just walking away or threatening to) rather than anything else that has brought this to a head. Personally, I don't mind how we got there as long as we did. Let's hope it achieves the turning point that is so vital.

The other way of looking at it is that the only thing Tan has paid any attention to is the lack of attendance for the Colchester game. You like most of us bought season tickets in the good years. If anything you are in the 98% majority rather than the 2% minority.
Re: Meeting-Out of the Blue!
It's 'here we go again' because you still think you've done more than 98% of fans. No one has any problems with what you've done but you put yourself on a pedestal (sorry, pedal stool). That's why you keep getting stick.

I get the feeling history will be written differently to how most of us remember it by Nigel in years to come.

Surely any protest is more effective and/or creditworthy if there is a degree of sacrifice involved for those doing the protesting? It seems pretty obvious that many would be missing the Colchester game anyway and it would be a hollow claim to say that if the crowd was down by, say, 12,000 from our average league gate this season, it was because of a fans boycott - indeed, all the club would have to say was that they expected such a low gate anyway and it would be impossible to argue with them.

As for your other comments, that's your view. I actually don't go out of my way to state what I do/have done. This has come only from me publicly thanking Tan for my holidays paid for entirely by money I no longer spend on City (it's a message to the club but seems to have bothered a few other fans for reasons best known to themselves). I also mention it when others, like Lardy above, like to offer a lazy comment that I have personally done no action to match my words. Maybe it's not to his liking but it's also patently untrue.

I think the issue people have, and why you get picked up on things is because you appear to slate other fans in the meantime, when a lot of their stances has been similar to your/my own.

We all had an individual choice to make and I personally had more reasons to still go than not at all and the overwhelming ones were about my family, son, daughter and friends who do go and I enjoy spending time with and my desire to watch the football team I have watched week in, week out without ever being away since 1968. That's why I made a personal stance to invest nil in the club other than my season ticket money which I have maintained since 2012.

As you say, it's now time for looking forward and not back, which is a sentiment you've made before. However, you still can't resist pointing out how you think you're better than 98% of fans. Someone pulled you up on this a couple of weeks ago and you said fair point but back to square one now.
