ISIS have an End Times worldview. They want to usher in the Day of Judgement. This is supposed to occur when Muslims defeat Rome (or the West). That's why their acts of violence are deliberately provocative - they want to provoke a clash of civilisations with the West. I think it's best if we don't give them what they want.
