Championship games today
Oxford v Coventry 0-1 already
They are on a bad run, could Oxford be dragged in?

They've still got an 8 point gap but you never know.
Coventry 5th meanwhile. Remember when their fans were angry they got rid of Robbins to get lampard in and everyone was writing articles how badly Robbins had been treated. Weren't Coventry in a relegation battle with us then?
Maybe fans aren't always right?

Re: Championship games today
Oxford getting pulled back into it again. No wins in their last 8 games.

Re: Championship games today
Great result for City, a win in the game in hand will put another team below us, which is the only thing that matters at this point in the season

They feel a team to me who will stay up this year somehow but go down easily next season.

The game in hand is Burnley on Tuesday. A win in that one would be a major surprise, but stranger things have happened.

Did Burnley rest their first team today, They got done 3 - 0 at Preston in the cup.

Re: Championship games today
Sure, they looked vulnerable today though, Preston carved them up on the break. I don’t think us nicking a 1-0 is totally out of the realm of possibility if we can keep it solid at the back.

BBC said 9 changes from the team that beat Wednesday a week ago yesterday.

I could tolerate it last night due to specific circumstances but I hope that 5 4 1 doesn't become a pattern for the future.

Nine changes from their last league outing. I wouldn't read too much into FA Cup results. Their focus will be firmly on promotion.

Coventry 17th when lampard was appointed. Now 5th.

Re: Championship games today
Luton winning at HT.
Sees our lead over the bottom three drop to 5 points. Derby and Stoke drawing in their games.
-
Re: Championship games today
Oxford lost
Derby losing
Luton winning
Stoke drawing
Mixed bag so far
-
Re: Championship games today
Portsmouth just missed a sitter to equalise against Luton, we could do with it being a draw
-
Re: Championship games today
Noticed McGuinness on the bench for Luton.

He was injured in their game against Plymouth and missed their game against Watford. Brought on at 70 minutes today.

Re: Championship games today
Less than ideal the Luton win, but drags Portsmouth back into it a little, and offset somewhat by a late Boro goal against Stoke. Not a disastrous set of results for us.

And only three points.

A 5-0 win would see us jump to 17th and above Portsmouth. Doubt the bookies have even bothered making odds for that outcome :hehe:

Re: Championship games today
You’re right, they haven’t, but they’re offering 150/1 on 4-0.

Re: Championship games today
Maybe I'm the only one who isn't really bothered with how the other teams around us do. It has no bearing on whether we stay up or not. We either get enough points or we don't.

Doesn’t how the teams around us do determine what’s enough points to stay up though?

That's true. But it will be far easier getting enough points if those below us don't go on a decent run. I think 50 points will be a struggle to get.

That's how I look at it - every time a team below us loses is 3 points off the maximum they can get.
