Wrexham are above us in the football pyramid!
I know it's been fact now for a few weeks but it just hit me. What a sad sad state of affairs.

Re: Wrexham are above us in the football pyramid!
Well, Wrexham have been on a sharply upward trajectory, and we've been going downward. It's not a surprise.
Maybe get TKO Holdings to buy us out and start putting us on Netflix, get Cody Rhodes to start coming to Cardiff City games or something.

And it's Cardiff City
Cardiff City FC
We’re the third greatest team in football
That Wales has ever seen...

Re: Wrexham are above us in the football pyramid!
Netflix should do a show on us.
It would be like a mockumentary. Great comedy.
Tan , Dalman , Choo and their running of the club and it will run in nicely to November when the latest feck up is removed and Pursey is put in charge.
Could then also follow around the Judean People's Front , the people's fro nt of Judea and the Popular Front around with their various meetings and protests.
What has Vincent Tan ever done for us???

Liverpool and Everton are above us so one more Merseyside team doesn't really matter.

The last time Wrexham were above us in the Football League pyramid was 2000/01, so a fair old while ago but not that long in the grand scheme of things.

How many times have they finished above us? It can't be many seasons?

Always thought we missed a great chance when we were in the prem to cash in.
Unscripted version of the office.

This took a bit of research, but I think I have the answer and it's happened on ten previous occasions:
1980/81 (both teams in Division 2)
1986/87 (both teams in Division 4)
1993/94 (both teams in Division 2)
1994/95 (both teams in Division 2)
1995/96 (Wrexham in Division 2, Cardiff in Division 3)
1996/97 (Wrexham in Division 2, Cardiff in Division 3)
1997/98 (Wrexham in Division 2, Cardiff in Division 3)
1998/99 (Wrexham in Division 2, Cardiff in Division 3)
1999/00 (both teams in Division 2)
2000/01 (Wrexham in Division 2, Cardiff in Division 3)
Wrexham also finished higher in the Third Division (North) than Cardiff did in the Third Division (South) on five consecutive occasions during the Thirties (1932/33 to 1936/37 inclusive).
Here's a shocking fact for you: 2025/26 will be only the second season in Football League history that Cardiff City will start the campaign lower down in the pyramid than both Swansea City and Wrexham. The only previous occasion was in 2000/01, when Wrexham and Swansea were in Division 2 and Cardiff were in Division 3.
Good work, Vincent.

Don't forget Vincent has also managed to relegate his other team. Must be one of the worst chairman in world football.

Just checked this again and it's not quite right. In fact, it'll be the third time this has happened:
1995/96 (Swansea and Wrexham were in Division 2, Cardiff were in Division 3)
2000/01 (Swansea and Wrexham were in Division 2, Cardiff were in Division 3)
2025/26 (Swansea and Wrexham will be in the Championship, Cardiff will be in League One)

Good work, Vincent.
This time next year ... unlikely but possible:
Swansea, Wrexham and Newport preparing for a new season above Cardiff.

Newport will be looking over their shoulder, rather than upwards.
There's no way on Earth we get relegated, either

Good work, Vincent.
to be fair, the 00/01 season was a lot of fun at the time.
We signed Leo and Gabbs
Earnie made his breathrough.
Scored 95 goals, won half of our games.
I didn't enjoy that any less because Wrexham and Swansea were in a higher league.

2000/01 was great. Evil villain Sam Hammam arrived and everything changed, quickly. Suddenly there was genuine hope after decades of doom and gloom, and the crowds and results reflected that.
It's kind of ironic that we're back behind the likes of Swansea and Wrexham again under the guidance of Vincent Tan. Wales is a small country with just four EFL clubs. For the biggest of those clubs from the capital city to be currently ranked third is pitiful really.

But we know football doesnt work like that, doesnt make any difference the size of your city / town, being the capital or not, a few bad seasons and everything changes

Re: Wrexham are above us in the football pyramid!
I didn't want to get relegated and I'm not trying to sugar coat anything but I'm looking forward to next season a few new grounds for me as well.
A couple of weeks in I'll probably be pissed off again.
I guess it's who we get in manager and player wise.
