The Queen.....will matches be postponed
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-62836057
"Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision," a statement said.
"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."
Prince Charles is now with her and the Duke of Cambridge is on his way.
The Duchess of Cornwall has also travelled to Balmoral.
In fairness old Lizzie has been hanging on for ages. Can't see the old girl going much longer.

Re: The Queen.....will matches be postponed
Why not let the people that want to grieve and mourn do so of their own accord. All this nonsense about banning comedy on TV for 2 weeks is ridiculous.
What if she dies just before England’s first match of the World Cup? Do we not get to enjoy them being humped by Iran?
-
Re: The Queen.....will matches be postponed
I hope we're all thinking about Nicholas Witchell in this worrying time?
-
Re: The Queen under Medical Supervision
she must have just opened the electricity bill for Buckingham palace

I’m no royalist, I hope that if she goes it’s peaceful with her loved ones around her but the coverage is going to be utterly unbearable. Seen people on twitter begging people to pray for her, she’s 96, no one needs to pray for her immortality and also you’ve never even met her you mad loon.

I am and I'm deeply concerned about his absence from our screens so far. I thought he was on call 24/7.

Re: The Queen.....will matches be postponed
Out they trot
Stephen Bates , Royal Author ....making money out of the plebs basically .....saying this is a serious situation ...........she's 96 you clown
Nic Witchell , Penny Junor etc , more guff from them no doubt
She seems like a good old stick ....although she could be an old dragon......these royal reporters have no more idea than we do .....oh there's another one on now Richard Sumner.....hes LONG suspected something serious was going on ! Christ he's a doctor too !
Her body is giving out on her , something serious is starting , she's very frail !
The nation is holding its breath ! ......what cobblers
Shut up you soppy tart , leave the woman alone in what might , we don't know , be her final days

Re: The Queen.....will matches be postponed

Re: The Queen under Medical Supervision
She was the people's princess !
Oh no that was the other one
It's not going to be as bad as that is it ?

People have been asking god to save her for decades. Surely he's been listening?

I think if the head of state dies that is pretty legitimate news.
there should definitely be room for a discussion about whether we want to continue this ludicrous system after she dies though

Re: The Queen under Medical Supervision
There will be those in South Wales getting ready for a party.....as the chant goes.
"God Save the King" at Qatar??

Re: The Queen.....will matches be postponed
No football for at least a week I fear and the telly will have to be switched off. It'll have to be short wave radio and DVDs

What a first post though, exceptional stuff. Like a youngster scoring on his debut and calling the away fans w*nkers
In all seriousness though if she does die then hopefully it's peaceful on a personal level, but I'm certainly no royalist and won't be particularly upset. The news is going to be ridiculous as well

Re: The Queen under Medical Supervision
It’ll be very suspicious if she dies two days after meeting the new anti-monarchy pm Liz truss.
To be fair mind, she delivers

Lol brilliant! I knew Truss would piss most of the country off but I didn't expect this.

Re: The Queen.....will matches be postponed
Yes, all sports will be cancelled, and we'll be told endlessly about how much "work" she's done for the country, and they trot out every celebrity (Beckham is guaranteed) they can find with an anecdote about meeting the queen.
But on the plus side I think we get a bonus bank holiday.

Re: The Queen.....will matches be postponed
We’re all going to need Hull stubs.

Re: The Queen.....will matches be postponed
Will they turn porn off for a week?
-
Re: The Queen.....will matches be postponed
well they cancelled it for dianas funeral. i suspect the large crowds outside the cathedral may have been protesters rather than mourners but then they heard elton john was going to be playing live so they got distracted.
Sadly, I think yes, football will get cancelled, and judging by everyone jetting to be by her side, she's going to pop her clogs shortly.

All the nut jobs will be out in force. Basically thousands of Dai Hunts.
I just read that the funeral would be 10 days from the day of death, which if it's today, that is a sunday. Would be good timing for them to rob us of a day off for it.

Meghan crept in through the tradesman's entrance. Sure to get a crowd when she takes over the Palace with the ginger one. "I've got a divine right". She said, pushing her way onto the balcony to see the adoring crowds.
Apart from that, official notices (eg Queen's death) are posted on the railings of Buckingham Palace first.

If we don’t get an extra bank holiday out of this I’ll be pretty annoyed.

it's the least we deserve if we're basically losing the opportunity to watch anything decent for the next few weeks

This might be a good time to get away and have a short break in Pyongyang. Surely we'll be shielded from all of it over there?

Yes, but no more so than any other random 96 year old I've never met
