Do "they"? Or have one or two people said it on Twitter out of a nation of 4 million people? I saw the comedian Mike Bubbins mention it, maybe a few people went "oh yeah actually it is a bit weird that we sing a song about stabbing a woman because she laughed"
That's not real life either you f**king snowflake so calm down

It's not exactly what you said though is it? You said it was one or two people on Twitter! I posted a link showing you were wrong and that its now being called into question in a national newspaper.
It's how these things work and I think you are being naive if you think it will never happen, the WRU has already defended the singing of the song a few years back so it's not much of a stretch is it?
-
Re: Snowflakes want to ban Delilah now...jeez
Why are the WRU involved? It’s a Stoke City song!

But that article is where I heard about it myself, and "one or two" was a figure of speech, i.e not many out of a nation of 4 million
And the fact that it's a space filler in a notoriously shit for content online newspaper does not make it a "thing" a journalist has been asked to write a few hundred words about something which is relevant now so he has. Ultimately, the journalist has raised it, Mike Bubbins has raised it, and ok let's be generous and say for arguments sake say a couple of hundred of people on twitter agree. That's it. No need for the SnOWflAkeS BriTAiN Is BRoKeN pEA sEa gONe mAd outrage.
On another note, it is a weird song to sing at a sporting event, not that I care or think it should be banned

Re: Snowflakes want to ban Delilah now...jeez
They should ban Stoke fans singing it. Awful. I know a Stoke fan who said I'd be impressed with their version when I went up to the Britannia to watch us play them. It was crap.
-
Re: Snowflakes want to ban Delilah now...jeez
Wouldn't the snowflakes be the ones that get all upset over a song being discouraged at sporting events? Like the people that get all bent out of shape about wearing masks? The Delilah thing probably wont even happen. Nothingburger.

And he is the artist of the song. Surely you should respect his wishes?

Re: Snowflakes want to ban Delilah now...jeez
PJ Proby recorded it before Tom, he hated it apparently and the Tom picked it up, same as Stoke and rugby lot.

I think youve got this wrong, did you just read the WOL headline with a picture of Tom? The quote that I'll never sing it again was from the journalist who wrote the article 😂

It's the irony about people having a tantrum at the very possibility of something changing that they want to keep the same, and the whole time they call the other people involved snowflakes for being sensitive :hehe:

Nice one Glenn.

Welsh rugby's first black international player slams proposals to ban England's 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' song
Attachment 3913
Wales' first black international rugby player has labelled the sport's plans to outlaw English song 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot', over its links to slavery, as 'PC gone bonkers'.
"It will not stop English fans from singing it. What then? Accuse each fan of being a racist! PC gone bonkers.
"I'll decide what offends me. No need to be offended on my behalf."

And of course it must be stated that lots of other black people will be offended by the song, unlike webby
Gerald Cordle when playing for cardiff against neath was called a monkey so jumped into the crowd and handed out some justice . He was clearly offended by the remark and didnt need anyone to be offended on his behalf .

He's right in that it'll never be policed though, which poor steward on a part time minimum wage is going to go and tell a stand of pissed rugby fans to stop singing a song? I feckin wouldn't, and I've always thought it's weird that a white mostly middle class crowd of English rugby fans sing a slave song
-
Re: Snowflakes want to ban Delilah now...jeez
I don't think many knew of it's slave association when it started. I believe it was first sung as a play on words to Martin 'Chariots' Offiah when a large white, mostly middle class crowd were singing it in praise of him, a black man.

It is of course true that the song was sung in praise of martin offiah and chris Oti who were known as chariots for their speed but it is a slavery song . Are english rugby fans racist ? Certainly no more so than welsh rugby fans
