Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Not sure this is the game to give the kids a chance. Tough and physical with goal machine Akwefemba up top. 😀
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Throw the kids into it. Surely now this is their chance, we haven't lately had many competitive games where the result itself doesn't matter much to us.

Is that Demba Ba’s brother?

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Having played fifa where on ultimate team he has become a minor cult figure, I know its Akinfenwa, not too bad a mouthful.
Think it would be interesting to see some development cbs up against the beast.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Akinfenwa scored his first ever goal at this level to earn Wycombe a win over Bristol City this week.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Tom Sang out for the rest of the season. Jordi Osei-Tutu will replace him.
Sean Morrison will miss tomorrow but could be back for last two games.

Probably get his first hat trick at this level tomorrow

That genuinely made me laugh out loud. Come on fella, you've become very negative recently by your standards. Chin up, the season's almost over.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Akinfenwas penalty miss in the play off final is always good for a laugh. Bettered moments later by Tate.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Tricky game this one. Wycombe have come into a bit of form.
4-0 City

No chance of moving him into base of midfield this season then. Fortunately, most of our young players (Watters, Harris, Colwill) play further forward so must have a good chance of minutes today.
The only other thing worth doing is Ralls as CM to give him time in natural position with experienced players in front of him, but if we start Ralls as AM as part of same offensive three against Brentford then it's an opportunity missed.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
They’re actually a lot closer to 17th than I thought so we got a moral obligation to play a strong squad (even though they beat us when we had our strongest out before)
That being said, 17th being Derby.
Chuck the under 11s on

I dont think Wycombe have a chance of escaping the drop, though seeing Derby go down would be funny.
As I said earlier this could be a tricky game bit I think City will win easily.

Cant see many changes, although Colwill must have a chance of starting. Not sure where though.
Dont see much point in Ojo and Wilson starting. They can stay on bench.
Smithies
Tutu
Ng
Brown
Flint
Nelson
Ralls
Vaulks
Moore
Colwill
Murphy

I would be happy if Ralls was not part of Mick’s plan for next season

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Quite looking forward to this now with that line up.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Not sure what he sees in brown as a wingback.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Confident now Morrison starts.
4-0 City

Think I'd prefer Morrison be positioned as RWB and NG on the left than Brown as LWB again - he's a LCB and if he plays 3 remaining games (including today) in that position we have a 10 game sample size to judge whether to keep him or not. Can only presume Arsenal have decided Osei-tutu isn't fit to start yet.
Ralls as CM, we're not seeing same front 3 as last few games and youth given a chance which is all positive.

None of the loan players start so MM has obviously decided it’s time to look at what he’ll be working with next season as opposed to players who’ll be gone in a couple of weeks.

Possibly, but we'd find out a lot more about players in front of him if they're linking with a WB more comfortable on the ball.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Morrison injured Jordi coming on.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v WYCOMBE W. Match thread
Murphy decent chance...never understand why they always shoot along the floor instead of a chip over the keeper....
