Re: PDC World Darts thread
Been watching a bit of darts lately.
Hopefully the title stays in Wales - we are blessed with a couple of players right at the top of their game.
I do fancy getting myself a dartboard - especially if any lock down rumours are true.

Re: PDC World Darts thread
Stand up if you luv the darts.🕺🏻

Re: PDC World Darts thread
A few decent players left off the OP's list. Wade, Cross and Ryan Searle all playing well at the moment and could be decent outside bets, but I'd love to see Gerwyn Price or Clayton win it.

Re: PDC World Darts thread
Bit of a wank crowd on the opening night singing GSTQ and English football songs.
-
Re: PDC World Darts thread
Some stats to ponder:
Highest average you could theoretically whitewash an opponent in one set: 167
Highest average you could win a set: 171
Highest average you could lose a set: 173.5
Highest average you could be whitewashed in a set: 174.14

I don't follow the darts much these days but heard it's in Cardiff soon?

Do it! I've had one for quite a few years, after having not played for ages before that. It paid for itself a thousand times over during the lockdowns. Dart Counter website, and app for phone is fantastic and free. https://dartcounter.net/en
Makes it so much more fun when playing on your own, which has been a lot the last couple of years!
Working from home has been good for one thing, my darts average :hehe:

Normally in the CIA, hopefully Gerwyn Price gets a great home reception.
With all the booze, football chants and booing I can see it turning ugly one day.

Thanks fella, glad you shared that.

I'm amazed that it hasn't.
I was equally amazed watching the crowd earlier in fancy dress and not a mask in sight.
People just want to wear Mario costumes and have a good time I guess and who can blame them, but it did look like a massive petri dish.

Re: PDC World Darts thread
This was pretty spectacular...
'Borland nails nine-darter to win match on debut!'

Thought the crowd were cnutish to such a young kid on his debut, but he soon shut them up with that 9 darter.
I don’t think the Dutch fans are there in numbers this year because of the covid and it’s just turned into EDL Christmas party ……cmon Gerwyn he’ll sort them out.

Re: PDC World Darts thread
Watched the Peter Wright match last night. Constant chants of 'Tottenham get battered ' and some obnoxious woman who kept screaming ' Harry Maguire' constantly. I'd happily pay a years wages to any doctor willing to remove her vocal cords ! Had to turn the sound off in the end 🤣
-
Re: PDC World Darts thread
Another 9 darter!
Labanauskas with this one.

I agree there.
In that match he hit a 10 and 11 darter himself.
In fairness that was a brilliant match to watch and what a way to win a match.

It was "Scotland get battered" wasn't it? They were singing it at Borland as well, as well as "England til I die" and chants about Harry Maguire for some reason

Cardiff-born Jim Williams takes the first set against 2021 World Youth Champ Ted Evetts.

Williams could do with sharpening those darts up a touch.

Re: PDC World Darts thread
Williams through 3-1, though that'll be as far as he goes without quite some improvement.

Very humble in his post match interview for someone who just earned himself a tour card.

Yeah, I don't quite know what to make of him. In his last few years at the BDO he was one of their very best players and was favourite at one point to win their last World Championship in 2020. He's been setting up his own joinery business and nearly didn't accept a PDC tour card.
There's another interview with him on twitter where he says he walked off stage feeling he had lost, given how poor he and the game were. He certainly hasn't settled as a PDC player and I have a feeling that if he has a bad year he'll give the game up at this level.

Sherrock v Beaton coming up.

Cracking match. Beaton just edges it.
C'mon the Ferret.

No fairy tale this year, great game but got the jitters at the wrong time, Steve Beaton too professional to fall into any traps.
Cmon Ferret

Re: PDC World Darts thread
The TV coverage has been poor. Loads of out shots have been missed by the director.
-
Re: PDC World Darts thread
Well done the Ferret.
Fair play to that Irish lad. I thought he had it at one stage.
Great game.
-
Re: PDC World Darts thread
What a game, well played both, 10 x 100+ finishes, 103.7 ave. Great game, great quality Ferret

Wonder if he ever has to give Barney a stiff talking to?
