FT: HUDDERSFIELD 0 - 3 CARDIFF CITY. City end season in 12th place
Match facts
- Huddersfield are winless in seven league matches against Cardiff (D2 L5) since a 1-0 win in January 2003.
- Victory for the Bluebirds would see them win back-to-back away league games at Huddersfield for the first time.
- The Terriers have reached the second-tier play-offs for the first time, making them the eighth side to reach the play-offs in all three divisions (Blackpool, Bolton, Bradford, Burnley, Cardiff, Preston, Swansea).
- Cardiff boss Neil Warnock managed 120 games for Huddersfield between 1993 and 1995, leading them to promotion from the third tier via the play-offs in the 1994-95 campaign.
- Rickie Lambert has had a hand in eight goals in his last nine Football League games against the Terriers (five goals, three assists), netting in each of his last two.
- On the day of this game, Huddersfield will have spent 268 days of this Championship season occupying the top six, more than any other side - Cardiff, meanwhile, are one of four sides to have not spent a single day in the top six (along with Preston, Rotherham and Wigan).

Re: HUDDERSFIELD v CARDIFF CITY. Matchday thread
Interesting team - everyone he has who might be there next year? No Kads (injured still?)
-
Re: HUDDERSFIELD v CARDIFF CITY. Matchday thread
Manga on his way?
Amos won't be here.
-
Re: HUDDERSFIELD v CARDIFF CITY. Matchday thread
Team: Murphy, Peltier, Connolly, Morrison, Richards, Bennett, Ralls, Gunnarsson, Hoilett, Pilkington, Zohore.
Subs: Amos, Whittingham, Noone, Halford, Lambert, Mark Harris.
No McGregor, K Harris, John, Meite, Manga... and only 6 subs. Warnock did say in his pre-match interview that Manga had already left the country but would be back for further talks in June.
And NO FRED!

Would that mean him out for the play offs? Is he first choice?

To be fair they would have that attendance anyway. It's only an hour down the road.

Yeah. Danny Ward, the first choice keeper. Should be a one game ban so he'll miss the first leg.

Re: LATEST: HUDDERSFIELD 0 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Matchday thread
I noticed Sean Scannell has come off so they can put the sub keeper on.
Will his next competitive appearance be in a City strip? :sherlock:

Sion Spence was meant to be in the squad but he can't play due to insurance reasons so I think that's why we only have 6 subs

Re: LATEST: HUDDERSFIELD 0 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Matchday thread
Brighton 1 up at Villa.
Brighton heading for the title and it means we are in the top half above Villa.
Villa down to 10 men as well.

Shots on target statistic is impressive.

Re: LATEST: HUDDERSFIELD 0 - 3 CARDIFF CITY. Matchday thread
JtJ will be hoping Villa don't equalize as he's bet on a top half finish... :-)
-
Re: LATEST: HUDDERSFIELD 0 - 3 CARDIFF CITY. Matchday thread
A top half position would be a very good achievement noting the mess we were in after the Burton game
-
Re: LATEST: HUDDERSFIELD 0 - 3 CARDIFF CITY. Matchday thread

Yep - just checked that too. Great news - top half is a real achievement from where we were unless Villa get a second. Newcastle have won the title too unless Brighton get a late winner.
