A Cringeworthy City Moment
Sending that male voice choir around to the away end at half time to serenade the Newcastle fans with a rendition of Blaydon Races. What the hell was that all about?????

Re: A Cringeworthy City Moment

Re: A Cringeworthy City Moment
Yep , leathered 3 nil in a dreadful performance
And they send a couple of players on to kick beach balls on the pitch
People were crying next to me , one bloke was in his sixties and had been taken to the city by his dad
Isowich fans were class , staying behind
The club showed us no class
I wanted a ****ing pitch invasion

Red Scarves for me
That picture of that bloke holding one up in the ground
Most of the toilets were blocked up with them and the urinals and a big mound of them were set on fire in the Ninian stand
Not nice for those who had to clear them up but a fitting end in my opinion

agreed, the club has put us all through such crap over the years
I had taken my oldest daughter to most home games that season, we got out of family stuff to come and see evening games, then i bigged up the last game at NP, it was going to be emotional
1st up was Paul Parrys lack of effort, he just couldnt be bothered to chase any ball, to a point that my daughter asked " Dad, why doesnt that player run after the ball "
then it just got worse when they walked out with 1 quid flyaway balls and kicked them into the crowd, they even looked embarrassed doing it

Don't forget the box of fireworks, they really pushed the boat out that day.

I was embarrassed that day in 1993 when city were fighting Fulham ff sake

Re: A Cringeworthy City Moment
The day we got relegated at Plough Lane.
Nothing about that day was anything but, at the very least, embarrassing.

That was bad. It's all part of the same thing to me though. You can add Malaysian flags and people wanking over Sam Hammam to the list.

I will never forget a certain group of fans dressed in Malaysian flags , Malaysian clothes outside the stadium when Vincent tan said he was considering his position following opposition to the color change .
It was cringeworthy stuff
Tan has moved on from that mistake and I think he has been a good owner for us since
But ff sake vince , get rid of that silly little dragon on the badge

Re: A Cringeworthy City Moment
I might be way off the mark here but didn’t we once buy a ten seater plane to fly the team to away games?

standing with 2500 other city fans watching city getting dicked by Bury and getting relegated , yet again , to the old fourth division
It was a boiling hot day and it took ages to get home as there was a pile up on the M5

Re: A Cringeworthy City Moment
5 nil down at home against Maidstone, the crowd is announced as 8000 odd and we are thanked for our support
I think by the time the announcement was made the crowd was about 2500

Result aside, that was actually a good day. Bank Holiday weekend as I recall. On the piss in Eccles before the game and then spent the night in Liverpool. Crazy to think that Nathan Blake played in the 4th Division.

Re: A Cringeworthy City Moment
Bury away. Rainy midweek game and we got thrashed. Spencer Prior came over to apologise to the fans I seem to remember. I think Bartley was shitfaced and had a scrap with their mascot.

Re: A Cringeworthy City Moment
1. The Icelandic flag that a fan brought to games for 3 years following Euro 2016, waving it at English away fans at every opportunity.
2. The giant soul crew flag that appeared last year

I was in the Ninian that night, and I don’t recall any fires or the toilets over flowing.
A few, threw their scarves onto the pitch. One or two people towards the end doing the same and hurling lots of abuse at the rest of our subdued fans.
And I also recall lots of surplus scarves left on the concourse as we walked out. But let’s not re write history, it was an embarrassing, pathetic response from us, who by and large just accepted it.
And were glad of a freebe.....

Don’t think the last game at Ninian or the red shirts will be beaten as a top 2 but this is up there
