Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Are we really going into this game with Watters and Harris as our strikers?
-
Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Really hoping to see something more positive in this game. I like passing it around but something creative up top PLEASE.
Had some really well worked goals in the first two games. Been way more stagnant and sloppy even, these last two games.

I'm looking for an indication from our manager that he isn't going to try and fit square pegs like he did last season. I've no problem with us going in with Watters and Harris but I really need to see the team set up to give those two the correct service and style that plays to their strengths. Those are the two strikers we've/he's got. He has to adapt our play to fully exploit those two and not try and play any other way.

Not even really convinced we can call Harris a striker at this point tbh, given his lack of goals wherever he's been in his career, Watters is the only semi-realistic option isn't he.

Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Tanner should be back today, or maybe tomorrow in the Hereford game. Is over whatever knock he had.
Colwill still struggling a little.

Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
No surprise if that is the starting line up against Norwich.
-
Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Same team I chose in the “vs. Norwich” thread. Hope they do well. Come on City!

I had the same but with Bagan instead of Collins

Really like them both and really wish one of them was a right back!

Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Only 10 subs - no McGuinness, Phillips or Luthra, with Ralls, Adams, Davies and Colwill still out with injuries.

I really hope it isn’t.

Which ones would you change Bob?
(Apart from Watters)

Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Is he playing Ojo as a striker? Would have been interesting to see Crole on the bench, maybe e twenty minutes at the end?

I’m a bit surprised at the centreback pairing, but in a positive way and I been a little underwhelmed by Romeo so far. I don’t think there’s much between the two left backs, but I can understand the preference for Collins.
No surprise it’s the forwards that concern me most, I’think Watters could make a Championship standard striker and I’m not as critical of Harris as some, but it’s the lack of depth that is concerning, especially with no sign of Colwill and Davies returning at the moment.

Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Tanner over O'Dowda if 100% fit.
-
Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
The sound of our away support giving me chills once more, love it!

I’m interested to read Bob’s reply but for me, this is getting close. Without any new recruits I can’t see what else there is. I think that was Bob’s point but I don’t know obviously.

Looks like 4-2-3-1 to me.

I didn't see anything from Ng last season to suggest that he's good enough defensively to play as one half of a centre-back partnership.

So you wouldn't change any of the team then. Only 11 can play at any one time and this is the best team we could field in the circumstances.

Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
A lot of people owe Max Watters an apology, was slagged off on Twitter and this forum hugely despite not getting a chance, it was borderline abuse. Eat your words.

I'm not so sure about that, plenty have said that they think he has something about him. Just didn't want him as the one and only main striking option.

Last couple of goals he’s just popped-up in the right place for relatively straight-forward finishes. Good habit for a striker.

NG is one if the best footballers in the squad, has a bit of pace, reads the game well and can pass the ball. Whats not to like ?

Go onto Twitter the day Watters was subbed off after 36 minutes and take a look. The majority of the fans who tweeted that day were dreadful to him I know this because I had abuse aimed at me, I was 100% in the minority that day.

Yep more of that please :ayatollah:
And just played a lovely through ball to Rinhomota who should have scored.

I genuinely feel that for The Championship he’s too lightweight. Just an opinion is all.

You’re correct but it was 99.9 % as I was with you. Never want to see that happen ever again.

Re: SWINDON TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Ojo looks so much better today.

Did you not read the post that you replied to?
I doubt that he's good enough defensively to play as one half of a centre-back partnership.
