Your favourite song of all time
We may have done this before. I can’t recall.Anyway what is your favourite single. Ever.
Mine is the magnificent Echo Beach- Martha and The Muffins. I loved it when it was first released at the start of the 80’s and still love it now.

Siouxsie And The Banshees - The Passenger
Although it's sacrilege to some I like it much more than the Iggy Pop version. Some covers are just better.

Re: Your favourite song of all time
Could name about 10 different Smiths songs and still think of more that I’d say are my favourite.
Really hard but if I was pushed to pick one I’d say “this night has opened my eyes” as the lyrics are genius.

I could give you a title or two now - but in ten minutes give an entirely different list.
My musical taste comes mainly from album tracks anyway.

It is. All depends on mood.
One song that always resonates whenever I hear it is Every Body Wants To Rule The World by Tears for Fears.
Even though I could probably only name one more song by them (Shout!) and they are not a favourite band of mine I do think that song is superb.

Re: Your favourite song of all time
So hard to choose just one.
King by ub40 would be up there
as would Ceremony by New Order.
Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd is the one though.

Ken Bruce played the full Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight medley this morning, loved it, then he threw in Alone Again Or by Love for good measure👍👍👍

Best song of the 80s imo, and there's a lot of competition.

Ceremony was actually a Joy Division song, but it never got recorded. I believe there are a few flakey live/rehearsal versions floating about with Ian Curtis on vocals, who was also the lyric writer.

Yes I heard that. He always lets the record play to the end without talking over it as well. Love were a great band.
