Match facts
- Seven of the last 10 league meetings between Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff City have ended as draws, including both matches last season.
- The last five league meetings between Blackburn and Cardiff at Ewood Park have ended as a draw, with the last two ending goalless.
- Blackburn have won five of their last seven home league matches (D1 L1), as many victories as in their previous 19 games at Ewood Park beforehand.
- Cardiff are yet to score a single Championship goal in the opening 45 minutes this season, with the earliest of their 11 goals coming in the 52nd minute. Indeed, their first eight league goals this season were all headers, which is still currently double that of any other side so far.
- Mick McCarthy has lost eight of his last 10 away league games against Blackburn Rovers (W1 D1), with his only win coming in August 2011 in the Premier League with Wolves.

Stats don't look good, with our favourite ref in charge, as a bonus.
Hopefully scrape a draw 1-1

Excitement levels are off the charts it seems.

Setting up to contain Blackburn, who we'll probably be told are a fantastic championship side in the post match interview?

Not to mention how well the lads have done in only letting in 5 goals.
It’ll be “I were saying to TC the other day…”

There'll be a good response in training too.

Re: BLACKBURN ROVERS v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I think NG is our best RWB and Bagan our best LWB so good to see both back starting. Eventually want to see McGuiness come in for Morrison or Flint but maybe Mick wants to limit changes to defence and it's too soon for that.
Watching Bagan and Colwill continue to develop partnership is going to be good, as it will seeing it happen between Moore and Colwill.
Giles ready for the bench now and Ralls to come back in next week onwards - two of our first XI almost back.
Plenty of good professionals in the side who will be hurting from criticism over last week and ready to put on a performance.

It was purely intentional! 🤣

Re: BLACKBURN ROVERS v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I thought Brown did well last week and not even in the squad this week. Good to see Giles back on the bench and let's hope Moore and Colwill have good games today.

"It's long for cardiff"
Wonder how often that sentence will be uttered today?

Cleared off the line from a Flint/Morrison combo!

Re: BLACKBURN ROVERS v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
The "you Jack bastards" song is coming over loud and clear on the TV.
The ccmb vigilante mob haven't stamped it out yet then. Just post about it but won't confront the issue.

Listening on the radio it sounded a really poor goal to concede - just a long ball over the top

Yeah, easy, way too easy

Re: BLACKBURN ROVERS v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Don’t forget that all three of our centrebacks have been “excellent” so far - we’ve let in some shocking goals this season, but that’s the worst one yet.
-
Re: BLACKBURN ROVERS v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
"Mark McGuinness, has to bide his time now?"
"He’s unfortunate, the three centre backs who have played have been excellent."

You think so? I thought we were the better team and could have been ahead.
