You fash!!! :hehe:
Adz boy, where you been son.
Aww , missed you big style mate
There seems to be a lot of admiration for China, and a general hatred of the UK & US governments on here.
Adz is one of the best posters a forum could have
Hes a coup for anyone's message board mun
Considering South Wales and Cardiff are generally more socialist areas than anything else, it shouldn't be surprising if it is.
Not just this board, Johnson and his rabble are doing their damnest to convert the nation to the left, quicker the better for me:thumbup:
The UK Government are a bunch of horrible greedy *****
The US Government are 1000 times worse
The Chinese Government so bad they are beyond comparisson with the other 2.
South wales is generally a left leaning area when it comes to politics
Cardiff , swansea , the valleys , bridgend , port talbot , neath , newport , llanelli have by and large been represented by non right wing politicians for generations
Swing seats include the vale of glamorgan and cardiff north and tory seats like Monmouth may as well be located in the surrey stockbroker belt
So a message board that caters for the supporters of a club based in an area that is mostly left wing voting is going to be mostly left wing
There’s a swing to the right everywhere though, Working class people now vote for parties that don’t have their best interests at heart.
And they are soon going to see the results of their vote
Dear mr johnson I have lost my job due to the virus and stress of isolation ......that's ok we have spent the last ten years bringing in this thing called universal credit .......its on its arse but good luck ......if you cant work due to ill health then apply for ESA ......its a bastard to get , people commit suicide going through the appeal process and even if they win we test them again after two years but there you go , you voted for it so too late to complain now
I still have sympathy for anyone who voted for them though, the media and social media have done a great job in promoting the tories and undermining labour.
The right wing seem to be experts at using social media to spread this.
There was also the perfect storm of labour having an unelectable leader.
I think people seem to forget how many seats Labour won in Corbyn's first general election. The media really went for him after that as he was seen as a viable threat, where he wasn't before (hence Theresa May calling the early GE predicting a landslide victory).
They each have their problems, but I would definitely stick with the UK given the choice of the three.
China is an authoritarian dictatorship, and people who cross it are very harshly dealt with. Corruption is also rife and there is no independent media to hold the leadership to account.
Britain knew what this regime was like and handed over 5 million+ Hong Kong citizens to an oppressive regime without even giving them a say in the matter (the 99 year lease didn't actually apply to Hong Kong Island, only other islands and north of the Kowloon peninsula)
China has seen in recent decades a remarkable improvement in living standards for many of its people and it is easy to miss that looking from the outside - people within China are certainly aware of it, that said they were starting from a much lower base than the west.
The USA and UK have different problems. Their goverments are just motivated to get re elected in the next elections, so there is little long term planning, a lot of playing to the crowd and in both countries 2 parts systems that don't allow the majority of people to actually vote for what they want, with increasing gerrymandering and voter supression in both (still - better than a 1 party system).
Additionally the media and especially now social media holds a lot of power. This means that they (us and usa) can be far too easily manipulated by powerful billionaires, global corporations, and nefarious foreign powers, which is seriously undermining the principles of democracy .
I wold definitely prefer the UK of the three currently, but we are on a concerning trajectory.
Yes I’d take the U.K. government over those other 2 every day of the week. But they are far from perfect especially with how populism has crept in.
The thing that’s got me is the use of social media by billionaires and governments was something that should have been jumped on by conspiracy theorists etc but they seem to be the ones that get taken in by it the most easily.
It’s crazy how many of them are pro trump.

This interesting article talks about how facebook has become more right wing. probably also as its user base has got progressively older.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/faceboo...ns-11590507499
And this shows how they became aware they were fuelling increasingly divisive content that was weighted heavily to the right wing, and had identified steps to redress that balance, but it was shut down by the top management
Really interesting thanks!
Theres a lack of inspiration and aspiration so probably.
And the media really went for him again in the last election, what's that saying, your only as good as your last deal..
To be fair he was up again May , once the big blonde bombshell boy arrived he was finished , if only he had met May half way on voting for her deal ,had still be there now and appealing to the masses at Glasto ????
Read the whole post before you jump on my next paragraph Sludge.
ESA was of course brought in by the Labour Government.
So was the process of the interviews.
When I applied for my wife's DLA back in 2007/8 the interview process and I think the appeals process existed then but they were only carried out with a small percentage of claimants.
Even so, when I was filling in the form I read many cases on the net of people who had failed the interview process and then usually had it overturned on appeal.
It is worse now that the concept was widened by ESA so that most got interviews.
It meant that when the Tories got in the door they were able to do something similar to DLA ( now PIP of course) much more quickly than they may otherwise have done.
I will go through my experience of PIP separately. It would take too long now.
Suffice to say that the interview process is ridiculous and needs a complete overhaul to prevent so many appeals which unsurprisingly overturn the original decision.
Both parties bear responsibility for where we are now so both bear responsibilty for what has happened to people under ESA and PIP.
I don't agree with your observation - but even if it was true is there any surprise that posters concentrate on: the actions of our own government; our best international friend and ally (let's see how the Brexit trade deal turns out!); and the government of a racist state built on the embers of a UK mandate, protected by the UK and US for all its war crimes and nuclear weapons programmes, and represented in the heart of our main political parties in Westminster.
If I ever get wound up about potholes I am more likely to complain about the ones in my street than the worse ones in Mumbai.
That may seem anti-western to you and evidence of bias - but it is a very rational response to most of us!
Considering your points about racist state, war crimes , nuclear weapons that exist in the UK and the USA , a lot of people ouside of this left tilting board would argue that those same injustices and agendas exist equally or more within the Chinas , Iran's and Russia's of this world, however their democracies are disgrace to its own people , the beauty of western civilisations it has democracy and freedom of speech , right to protest ,recognition of peoples rights , that cannot be said of the horror shows or China , Iran and Russia.
And I repeat very little criticism exists on this board of China , Iran and Russia.
Well since socialism is just a method by which people exploit jealousy and resentment, it's not surprising that the most committed socialists are quite nasty people. Nor is it surprising that they have a lot to say, despite usually being quite bad at saying it.
Really, socialism is all about moaning and negativity, and those who are attracted to it will continue to moan whatever happens because they don't do anything to help themselves and so they'll always be unhappy and thus keep moaning about it.
I think it's more common here than it is in general society or amongst Cardiff City fans generally, but it's certainly depressing and if we consider the collective mindset of fans as it effects something like a football team, then it's certainly destructive to the positive attitude of that club. Fortunately it doesn't infect the playing staff or management structure, but it's there in the background.
We've got a guy running a blog about the club who's got such a negative "know your place" outlook that it's definitely a stone around the neck of the club, and this seems to come from a leftist view of life.
Personally I'm more concerned about a few worrying anti Semites who post here. I'm sure they're not representative , but some of the stuff they come out with is quite shocking, and as far as I can see they're all also leftists.
What a load of nonsense.
You really haven't understood socialism or what socialists want at all have you?
In my experience (and most people's I would imagine) committed socialists display a lot more care an empathy than those who are heavily committed to capitalism and the free market.
I like the mario kart analogy to socialism, those at the back get more help.
In much of the world today we see the exact opposite, to quote Edgar Bronfman
And to expand on that, to turn $100 to $1 million is practically impossible.Quote:
To turn $100 into $110 is work. To turn 100 million into $110 million is inevitable.
Also the only antisemitism I've ever seen on here has come from people who are definitely not left wing.
Yeah I think I understand what socialism is and its 100% record of increasing rather than decreasing people's wealth health and Liberty.
It's all very well quoting theorists about something which hasn't been tried yet, but socialism has been tried in various places for well over a century, and it's left millions dead in its wake without improving anything.
I don't think it matters all that much at the point because it's now been pretty much universally rejected and there's no danger of another labour government for as long into the future as we can imagine.
I don't want to start up the whole anti semitism thing here again, but my experience is that leftist posters are the ones who've defended or condoned it.
The brains trust are punching away at that straw man again.
Why are you two so obsessed with labels?
No label just an observation in my own private life , doesn't make me any lesser of a person or them , anther trait I now note in this social media era the personal jibes and false character bites fly so quickly from the fingertips of left leaning keyboards, guess the home is a safe one
