Ronaldo Back in the PL.

Re: Ronaldo Back in the PL.
"Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical.
"Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Cristiano back to Manchester."

Re: Ronaldo Back in the PL.
Wouldnt mind Mason Greenwood on loan.😂

Re: Ronaldo Back in the PL.
Strange how players want to sign for such a shit manager. They have for a decade now, and going on about it in the media, how talks with Ole was imperative. So strange, and so embarrassing.

Well he will have no excuses now.

Don't worry he's probably got a long list of ready made excuses if Ole fails to win anything.

Re: Ronaldo Back in the PL.
It’s only because he doesn’t have to play at a wet and windy Stoke on a Wednesday night!
Got to say that is a formidable set of forwards that Man Utd have this year.

I should imagine it's more about the club .

Have to give him credit where it's due. He ****ed up at Cardiff but the whole club was a circus at that point. He's obviously learnt from his mistakes and is a better manager now.

Totally agree! He also seems a genuinely nice man and I wouldn’t begrudge him winning honours at Man U.
Good luck to him!

Re: Ronaldo Back in the PL.
What does he offer that Cavani doesn't? Surely if there is money to spend it's better to spend on base of midfield which currently looks okay but not best in premier League.

He’s a much better player than Cavani and I’ve always rated Cavani.
Also Cavani will be travelling to South America 3 times before Christmas for internationals which mean he has to do 2 weeks isolation each time too.
They are desperate for a good dm though.

Re: Ronaldo Back in the PL.
With Real reportedly forking out 150 million for a player you have to feel for those ESL clubs don’t you. It’s not going to happen, but I’d love a Leicester type Premier League winner this season - Arsenal getting relegated would be nice as well.

Some say “Cardiff” fecked him up. No one knows what he could do with his essembled squad.

Me to. Still, players have been reporting talks with Ole convinced them. Just like here.Remember, players backed him strongly at Cardiff as well.

Agree the tactical genius of putting on Adam Le Fondre then putting another striker on a couple of minutes later with a signal for Le Fondre to go wide was brilliant. I despaired looking at a confused Le Fondre with his arms out wide clearly having no clue at what he was supposed to do.
The blokes a genius.

He is clearly a decent bloke
The problem with man united is that the fergie years means nothing is going to be good enough
They are behind the front runners now
I am not bothered but I think that's the reality

He offers stability. Winner mentality, such as Cavani, but a level above. He offers Twitter, newspapers all over the world top coverage and a huge income for the club. Cavani is hardly available till before Christmas, and then he has only 12 games in him. Ronaldo has the best goal scoring stats in the world.

Agree with that. They are behind, and probably fourth. But they where even further behind a few years back.
Realistic expectations have not been a trade of Man Utd for some years.

He was never put out wide. He was coming in the box from the side, rather than playing target. It is in books, if you’d like to catch up on the use of strikers and inside forwards. Who knows what would come of it. Not me, and certainly not you 😂

Not sure there is anything that Ronaldo wouldn't do better and that's not to say Cavani isn't a good player.
I agree in terms of budget though, going forward they already have options.
Feels a bit like it's just better than the alternative of Man City getting him.
I wonder who Man City will turn to now.

Ronaldo was going to sign for Man City until Fergie intervened.

No, that was Adam Le Fondre. No bid was made, and according to Romano, no serious talks were held. Still, a decade of players believing in him. But not the die hard Cardiff Ciry fans! The highest profile manager ever at the club.. What’s next? Russel Slade to the premier league steady some ship?

Can you tell the large number of City fans, myself included, who think Ole was a poor manager of Cardiff City why we’re wrong in thinking that way? I’d also be very interested in hearing what Ole was trying to do tactically while he was with us.

From what I can tell Ronaldo wanted to leave Juve and was having his agent speak to both Manchester clubs. No official bid was made until late today when Man City had already stepped aside.
Considering reaction of Man United fans to rumours of Ronaldo going to Man City and it eventually not happening I can see why the agreed story has become no serious talks were held with Man City but we don't know for sure.
Regarding Ole, not going to say he was a bad manager when he was here but he was a bad manager for us. Not sure how much he's improved since (only Luke Shaw is definitely a better player under him and only that PSG tie won on a Rashford penalty as unexpectedly good result) but he is trusted by high profile players - and now the pressure very much on to win finally win a major trophy.
No one yet has mentioned that Man City might have changed their mind about signing Ronaldo when the Mendy story broke and not wanting to double down on controversial headlines on the same subject.

Yes. You chose to neglect the chaos within the club. There where several report saying even within the club there where devisee between the red and blue. Ole was the first manager to speak about community to tan, and listening to the fans and their heritage. At the time, most of you thought we had a good team. Some of you thought we had gems in Caulker, Frashier and Mutch. We didn’t. We lost more than half our team going down, and it needed replacement. In the premier league Ole was given 7,5 million budget to save the train wreck from relegation. I’m sure Klopp couldn’t do it!
All his time here, he was switching and patching holes. Trying to fight the polarity within the club and finding a first 11 good enough. I’ve said this before, Ole has a clear vision on how to play football. He has written a seriously good piece on it once. But he is versatile enough to se he has to have the tools to do it. Just like he has shown at UTD. Would you be happy if he had set us up like Malay?
Squad and playing his way takes time.. More than seven games with players who needed guidance and time to gel.
Do you remember the Ben Turner interview? It’s a decade of players giving him credit mate. A decade. When can you lot admit you where wrong?

Ronaldo aside. Every player have given their tribute to Ole and his vision before signing. Latest Verane. It was the same at Cardiff. In 12 years, I have only read about one player not saying how good he is. And I have read Russel Slade spouse shit. And the leach Warnock trying to be cute.
No doubt expectations are high. Even for a squad behind Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City. He most probably will fail. Still. The highest profile manager at Cardiff ever. If only patience, right?

Re: Ronaldo Back in the PL.
What an incredible transfer window this could be.
Messi to PSG
Ronaldo to Man U
Mendy to Strangeways.
-
Re: Ronaldo Back in the PL.
Hope this means Ole's gaze on our 20 goal striker is now diverted for the time being ,let's prey CR7 stays fit .

Real bidding £150 million for a player they could get for free in a year, and this from the same Perez who was pleading poverty as a reason for the ESL's foundation a few months back

I am not wrong. I’m to orientated around facts. I’ll give you, once again, a direct quote from one of his team. “ We underestimated the depth of the trouble at the club”. Make of that what you want. If he learned from it? We all would. Or, should.

Do you have nothing better to do than start arguments over whether a manager was crap 7 years ago?
Everyone’s moved on, he’s doing well at United and they now look like serious PL contenders. Why you pop up every few months with the exact same arguments is baffling (always revolves into whether Le Fondre on the wing was a good move or not).
Or you keep doing you, writing paragraphs about a club being relegated almost a decade ago, I’m sure that’s a good way to spend your time 👍
-
Re: Ronaldo Back in the PL.
Man United were shite against Southampton last week because the manager doesn’t have a plan B ffs :hehe:
I like solskjear, I think he’s doing ok at United but acting like he’s the second coming of fergie or something is bollocks.
Id like to see him do well but he is tactically limited and not on the same planet as a manager like Tuchel.

That’s a fair point, but to be fair he makes a more robust argument for him than the detractors do against him

Re: Ronaldo Back in the PL.
Ole was clueless here.
Probably still clueless but has good people under him so he doesn’t mess up

Really like what.? He relegated us and we were doing crap in the Championship under him.
He was useless for us. Thats it.

Solskjaer was responsible for the most disorganised City team I ever saw (and yes I was there in the 90s). Hull and Palace at home, if I remember rightly, were the low points. After a rare clean sheet against villa, he changed three of the back five for the next game.
His record since doesn't change history, and that he was awful while he was here.
