Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
Wouldn't be a massive loss, let him go if it's the right fee

Really?
I think it would be a huge loss.

Agreed.

Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
ESPN now running it:
http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/292358...defender-fabio
Flimsy story so far. I bet most clubs in the country 'weigh up' moves for a dozen different players every week.
I hope it doesn't happen. I like the 5-3-2 change Trollope has brought in, and Fabio (with Dec and Jazz) fits it perfectly.

100% agree.
The lads a liability!
Positional sense is shocking and makes to many rash challenges.
He must be on big wages as well.
No great loss in my opinion.
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
I would hate to see him go but you balance the books and we have have other options in the squad. We need to sell to buy and the hard fact is other clubs will only be interested in the better players.I just hope we are able to move on some of the dead wood or the likes of ALF and co sit up and have a real go either to get into our team or secure a transfer elsewhere.

I'd be tempted to sell as his wages are going to be high and he's in the last year of his deal; provided we replaced him and it allowed us the funds to get a striker.

I think the likes of ALF will have their contracts paid up if we can't shift them come August 31st. I'd imagine if we sold them, we'd have to cover part of their wages for this season anyway.

Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
You have to question their own pride. These are talented players who could earn good wages for a few more years yet if any of us had the opportunity they have we would give it everything we had and count ourselves lucky. Maybe they have too much money too soon.
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
Would love to keep him. But the chances of us keeping him beyond this season are slim as he's on the final year of his contract. If we had the chance of a good fee, we would have to take it. I expect he's probably on very high wages too.

Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
Don't rate him at all. If he had a crew cut and his hair didn't bounce about the place he wouldn't get half the plaudits he gets.
Headless chicken who can't defend to save his life.

Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
The Teeside Gazette Live is really on the ball with this story too:
http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/f...enzo-11709183?
The 26-year-old is heading into the final year of his contract at the Welsh giants, and the word is that Russell Slade may allow him to leave, if a decent bid comes in.
It's time we stopped the Charlton veto on all our transfers. :hehe:
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
:hehe:
He's got a release clause in his contract (thought to be around £2 million) according to this;-
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/f...bids-11709914?
I'd sell if we could get a couple of million for him in the last year of his contract.

Ok, tbf, they are talented, they just can't be arsed.

Seems like you're summing up Declan there not Fabio
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
He has a £2m release clause according to Walesonline.

No he's absolutely on point in his summary of Fabio

"Big wages" ??
I don't think that applies to Declan John.
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
I can see why people criticise Fabio , I love watching him play , he is an entertainer, looks like he enjoys his football and playing with a bit of passion.
I would hate to see him go. I want to be entertained as well as successful.
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
This^^^^
2 million for a lad in his final season of contract too good to pass up though.
Looked good going forward, I remember clapping him like we do gabion a few times, the little I've seen of him so Dec could fill in there IMO and put the 2m towards a striker
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
Not in the squad eh? :sherlock:
Newly-promoted Premier League club Middlesbrough are interested in signing Cardiff City defender Fabio Da Silva.

Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
He will be missed. But maybe not '2 mil to spend on a striker' missed.
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
He's entertaining but a liability, slade didn't make the most of him though.
If Declan carries on like today he won't be missed.
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
I realise we are one of the many teams hoping there is still a number of deals to be done but I wouldn't want to see any key players sold at this point no matter what the money. If we worried about losing him for nothing next year we should have sorted it out earlier, if Boro really want to buy one of our players then we have players waiting to leave.
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
Personally, I was really looking forward to watching his hair bounce around in this new system. But I think he's definitely gone.
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
Paul Trollope was pretty vague as to whether Fabio had played his last match for us
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/f...lope-11714516?
I may be completely wrong, but I can't help thinking the decision to leave him out of the squad was not his own.

At least he was upfront saying he was left out because of possible transfer.

Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
Trollope said he was left out if squad because of transfer interest
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
I think this formation would suit him perfectly.
I'm optimistic about the season but our transfer business has again been rather underwhelming. The club have to spin things and try to express that they have ambitions of going up but actions speak louder.

Actions speak louder? We have changed the manager and system in order to get the best out of our best resources. It might not have been an exciting summer window but I disagree with the idea that ambition is measured by number of signings.

I'm sure he's had a hair cut this summer - see the pics from the Bournemouth game. Obviously Boro have only looked at his YouTube back catalogue, his wages and his contract release details. If they'd done even the most basic curly hair check I doubt they'd still be interested.

Right. That's it. Sell him.
The bounce from his bonce meant he had the best ayatollah at the club. If he's shaved it off he clearly only came to Cardiff so he could be closer to swansea leisure centre

Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
Would be a big miss if we sold him, and we would need another wingback if we sold him, we would have **** all cover in a very demanding position.

True. Bit of a rock and hard place this FFP situation. Ideally we would be holding onto Fabio and also bringing in a decent striker. What's the point of having a billionaire owner if we can't splash the cash?
-
Re: Fabio to Middlesborough?
He does the ayatollah though

When was the last time you spent any cash on CCFC? These hypocrites who can't get off their arse to support the club are full of shit.
