Very poor attendance today
We can no longer have any excuses for our poor support
The city of Cardiff does not seem capable of getting it's arse behind this football club
Just a few days after leathering Leeds and the fans vanish again
It's a real worry in my opinion , we should have had 23 k there today minimum
When are we as a fanbase going to stop deluding ourselves that we are anything but a mid table second tier club in terms of support
I hate to say this but the jacks are more loyal than us
Bitterly disappointed by the crowd today and anybody trying to find excuses is making themselves look like a prize tit

Just shows there are plenty of "loyal supporters" unwilling to put any money into the club unless they can get in for £5 a ticket.
We've gained at least 15k more fans per game than the really bad days of relegation, the rest just want to go to games for as little as possible - unless it's for certain games in the Prem in which case they will flock back.

It breaks my heart how fickle our fanbase is , it's got to be the worst in the country for turning up one week and not giving a **** the next , we don't deserve what we have in Warnock and this time
But it was raining

Indeed Sludge.
We've some of the lowest ticket prices in the Championship.
That's clearly not good enough for some plastics.

Re: Very poor attendance today
They came to watch Leeds in fact I bet a couple of thousand in the home end were wanky Welsh Leeds fans who couldn't get tickets for the away end
We are a fecking joke
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
Most of our extra support have city as their second side.
I agree poor showing

It's always been the way with us though. I've been amongst 50,000 at Ninian park to watch us play leeds in the cup in 1972. The following Saturday we were home to Fulham, I think, and only 13,000 turned up!

Cardiff and it's surrounding areas are chock full of united , Liverpool , arsenal , Leeds fans , it's pathetic

Just didn't have that thrust today
Something I sometimes have a problem with

Am I missing something here? Thought the crowd was over 18000?

If you think a crowd of less than 20000 at Cardiff today considering we are top of the league , looking like genuine promotion candidates and battered Leeds in mid week then you are missing a brain between your lugholes hiltsy

Best part of 10,000 who were there Tuesday, weren’t today.
This team deserves better.
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
Well the Cardiff Blues were on Sky Sports and it is our national sport
:hide:
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
Let's say there were three thousand Leeds fans there on Tuesday , that's a drop of 6000 home fans ........following a win !!!
We always get the same old crap trotted out but it's all bullshit , the club can't do anymore
Clemo was right all those years ago when he said Cardiff city had to sell players regularly because our support wasn't good enough and to be frank , he was spot on
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
I think Leeds brought 2,500, Derby maybe 1,500?
I think the £5 tickets are a good idea but only if the feckers come back
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
Good crowd today.
Clemo was right at the time - 2 - 3000 crowds were terrible.
Stay up there and the crowds will go up.
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
Lol... yeah right.
Those who didn't turn up today will only turn up if they can get away with paying £5.
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
Crowd was poor, no getting aeay from it.
The club is getting most things right at the moment and we have a team that's getting results. Yet our fans aren't coming back in droves. City crowds always seem to pick up in the second half of the season. I don't know why.

History and evidence says no , unless we are playing villa or Leeds ......I am afraid the city of Cardiff just isn't a football city
Considering its size , Swansea is , not nice to admit it , but it's the truth
When petty was ruining the jacks thousands walked through the streets to protest
When tan tried to erase our history and tradition the vast majority just couldn't be arsed as it meant they might be able to watch the big clubs every week
That's the city of Cardiff for you
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
Unfortunately football is getting too expensive to watch week in week out.

Although Swansea averaged 15,500 the season they went up.

That doesn't explain big gates at forest , Norwich , Sheffield united etc and I think if Swansea had a 24000 seater ground it would be full every week
I am afraid Cardiff city just isn't the club we think it is

They sneaked in via the play offs , they were hardly tearing sides apart like we have been
The jacks have always got behind their club more than us
I mean is anybody seriously going to defend some of our poor gates this season ?
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
Most people only want to watch Premiership football these days, we had full houses of 28k, the 13th best in league that year despite being bottom of league and playing in red during that season?

Not me, I generally agree with you.
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
Crowds are well up on last season and will continue to remain so if we carry on as we are. No need to be so negative about this. There is always someone looking to put a negative spin on something. Just enjoy the ride and stay positive.
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
It was about what I expected today.
A lot of us made an effort on Tuesday to get £5 tickets for people to go who don't feel as strongly as we do about the club.
Not long ago we'd dropped down to 13k crowds, with many less actually there.
We are on our way back to decent crowds. I don't think today was too bad.
We might be top, and that's great, but it's early yet and it'll take time to persuade people we can keep it up

Silly comparison really - Tan v Petty. Really need to debate the 2? - Them lot went into admin twice didnt they? Stop bigging them feckers up. Ripped off their creditors we avoided that. Did their thousands chip in and pay their creditors - no course they didnt.
What sporting club in Cardiff gets higher averages than the football team if we are not a footballing City?
-
Re: Very poor attendance today
You've basically nailed the problem Sludge. Big city with little interest in its own team. If you visited every school in Cardiff and asked every pupil who their favourite team was, how many would say Cardiff City?
Try doing the same in places like Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Sheffield etc, the results would be very different.

Like it or not the jacks get behind their club
Sheffield , derby , Portsmouth , football cities
Cardiff ....no chance

Of course success of our team compared to those you have mentioned is threadbare but we do not have a solid loyal following
Plymouth got bigger gates than we did in the lower leagues , that says it all

Re: Very poor attendance today
You’re no Nostradamus, Sludgey baby.
Football isn’t engrained in the city of Cardiff as it is Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool, and other major cities in Britain.
Why don’t you try telling us something we don’t know

What about the urban metropolis that is Norwich ?
