Centre of ninian looks half empty.
Embarrassing for the club. I wonder why they won’t allow season ticket holders to inform them they won’t be there so they can re sell the ticket on anymore?
-
Re: Loads of empty seats today!!!
I'm a season ticket holder of three.
But in Spain at the moment
-
Re: Loads of empty seats today!!!
Why is it that some people continually have a downer on attendances. Not all season ticket holders can attend every match, especially during August holiday time but most wouldnt want to sell their seat or give it to someone else anyway. I was in the ninian and it was pretty full, as was most of the ground and it was definitely over 30000 today - which is excellent. It was also on tv of course.

And why aren’t they allowed to discuss these things? That’s the whole point of this messageboard.

Re: Loads of empty seats today!!!
Families on holiday will explain quite a few of them

Re: Loads of empty seats today!!!
My mate s on holidays and normally we'd use the extra ticket. But as the STs were only sent out last week it's sat under the letter box waiting for him on his return and we couldn't get hold of it. I reckon that's happened a fair few times today throughout the ground.

Spot on. 30,720 in a 33k stadium is an excellent attendance considering it was on TV. Quite a few of those seats were in the hospitality area where the prices are obviously a lot dearer.

He didn't say people can't discuss these things, he makes some fair points
I agree with him, we played well, looked promising, kept a clean sheet and generated a pretty good atmoshpere for a 12:30 kickoff and now people want to whinge about attendances
-
Re: Loads of empty seats today!!!
There werent loads of empty seats.
Plus why are City fans not attending commenting. Buy a feckin ticket.
30700. FFS great crowd.
-
Re: Loads of empty seats today!!!
Holidays, early KO, SKY, plus there's always a few hundred under the stands watching on the monitors.

I agree, it looked and felt pretty full. The biggest chunk of empty seats was in the away end, which is understandable when you consider the majority of Newcastle fans left home at 3am to get to the game. Bloody Sky.
-
Re: Loads of empty seats today!!!
Shocked when I got home to how many seats were empty, if you cant make it give them to somebody else, if your a fan surely you know somebody who will have your ticket.
-
Re: Loads of empty seats today!!!
Sky mentioned pre game that we hadn't beaten Newcastle in our last 10 games and the last time we did beat them the attendance was 4,000! And here we are complaining about 30,000!

I am discussing it - you aren't. You are just trolling my posts as usual. Get a life.

I was taking the proverbial of the stupid comment. Making out a crown I’d 30,700 is embarrassing, is embarrassing :hehe:

How many Newcastle were there? Awful kick-off time for them. 2000 maybe?

it was your first home game back in the premier league in years , it should have been packed to the rafters , regardless of it been televised ,
you might as well given the newcastle fans the ground and stuck the cardiff fans in the away end . :hehe:

Unless I have missed something, people are unable to be in two places at once when they are on holiday. You should know this more than most, as you are in Merthyr and the team you are supposed to support but rarely watch are in Leeds - whats your excuse ?. Also our ground holds 33200, so was at 92% capacity. Leeds attendance today was 33669, with a capacity of 37890 i.e. 89% capacity - not good for the best supported team in Europe is it ?.

i am not from merthyr fella and your support is laughable people on holiday etc, :hehe: if leeds were playing at home in the premier league for the first time in years , you would not get a ticket for love nor money . .
its apathy fella, because many fans know that you will be fighting a relegation battle from day one , i do actually hope you stay up, but the passion for football in south wales is nothing like the passion for rugby

That would be the same Newcastle who failed to sell out their allocation by 400 seats!

How many years exactly is it since Leeds were in the Premier League - please enlighten us all. If you spent as much time actually watching 'your' team as you do on here and stopped posting such utter rubbish you might get a bit more sympathetic treatment. On second thoughts - no you wouldnt.

It wasn't shocking when we took 5000 to Scunthorpe in the old division three you fat Merthyr idiot

Re: Loads of empty seats today!!!
Some people turn out in their tens of thousands to watch Barry Manilow.
Others watch the shambles that is Leeds Utd in the lower leagues.
Call me nuts but I wouldn’t waste my money on either.

Are these your excuses for not attending Leeds games?
-
Re: Loads of empty seats today!!!
Chris the Leeds fan joins in and so the thread becomes the normal defence of the club against his "banter", but I was surprised, and a little disappointed, at the number of empty seats in the ground. Too early to draw definite conclusions yet, but my guesses are that we have quite a few season ticket holders who were either on holiday, stayed away to watch it on the telly or are only interested in actually attending when one of the top six sides come to Cardiff City Stadium.
