FT: READING 3 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Reading v Cardiff City, Sunday August 18th, ko 12 noon
Referee: ANDY DAVIES
Assistants: Timothy Wood and Daniel Leach
Fourth Official: Kevin Johnson
Andy Davies' first game in charge of Cardiff City was back in 2015 at Brentford when Alex Revell had his finest moment in a City shirt, scoring a stunning winner as City won 2 - 1 with nine men.
Other noticeable games under his charge are the famous Shane Duffy show at CCS when the then Blackburn player scored two own goals before getting sent off as City again won 2 - 1.
He was also in charge of Cardiff's 2 - 0 win at Hull which just about cemented promotion to the Premier League in 2018.
Last season he issued 124 yellow cards and 6 red in 37 games.

Does anyone know if this game will be live on City TV? It's not a Saturday 3pm game, so it should be....

I agree with that. Injuries permitting NML only likely change, unless Hoilett brought in for Murphy as well.

I hope not. I think Hoilett is better served as a super sub now, he'd be my first sub every game.

Looks like Ralls is a doubt for the match and Mendez-Laing probably won't be back either.

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Wouldn't surprise me to see Hoilet comes in for Whyte or Murphy as Neil seems to prefer his defensive work away from home. Personally I'd like to see Vassell get a start out wide - with a pacey front three of Glatzel, Murphy and Vassell.
-
Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Pretty sure Hoilett will start. Ralls should be ok but it would be good to see what Vaulks has to offer.
Guess Warnock has to consider another match Wednesday night so he wont be taking chances with people.

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Match facts
- Reading are unbeaten in five league matches against Cardiff (W2 D3 L0) since a 2-0 defeat in November 2015 under Steve Clarke.
- Cardiff have won two of their past 12 away matches against Reading in all competitions (W2 D6 L4).
- Reading have not lost three consecutive Championship games since losing their opening three matches of last season under Paul Clement.
- In the Football League, Neil Warnock has lost 16 matches against Reading - against no side has he lost more (also 16 v Watford).
- Reading's Lucas Joao has scored in his first two league matches of this season - one against Reading for Sheffield Wednesday and one for the Royals against Hull - with the striker never scoring in three consecutive Championship appearances.
- Cardiff City have used more players than any other Championship side so far this season, using 21 players in total.

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
That Puscas goal was the kind of goal you might expect Mendez to score.
-
Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Difficult to see us scoring, but likely to give away a couple more at the back
-
Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We look a shambles at the moment
-
Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
2-0 Puscas again.
They are running rings around us at times.
-
Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Moore was lucky not to be sent off for that challenge
-
Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
What the **** was Vaulks just doing? Weak as ****.

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Reading are shite lads, what's happening
-
Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Is appalling an appropriate enough term for that first half showing.
Reading completely deserving of their lead. Look hungry, chasing down everything. Pressuring City players on the ball, exploiting space and creating chances to score.
Cardiff's closest look in is a shot from distance from Ralls. Nothing else has come of their time on the ball.

That was basic defending, so flat footed.
Theyd better look out HT. Warnock will not be 'appy

Was away last week so didn't see the Luton game. My first impression of Flint today? Carthorse!

Re: READING v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Paterson? That's Warnocks answer?
