FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 1 FULHAM. Match thread
We've won 4 of our last 15 at home to Fulham, stretching back to 1984. We've won 2 out of 2 in the Premier League at home to them but only 1 of the last 4 in the Championship.
The last win at this level came in 2015, when Sean Morrison scored. It was the first game back in our blue shirts. That day saw a crowd of 22,515 with the ever popular Russell Slade in charge. It'll be interesting to see how many turn up tonight.

Re: Fulham tonight
Crowd should be good, the announced one anyway. Friday night and on sky though.

You'd hope so. That Fulham crowd was one of the best that season and was better than the Huddersfield crowd just over a week ago. It'll be an interesting marker to see if our crowd is much bigger than 22,515, given that we now seem more galvanised and united as a club.
In terms of crowds, ours dropped by 23% after relegation 5 years ago. This season so far it has dropped by 26%.

Re: Fulham tonight
The first two game of this season have aggregated 46,545 and in 2014/15 41,411. Ironically we played Huddersfield in our first two games at home in both seasons. The crowds held up pretty well in 14/15 with only one game below 20,000 before February, and 4 of the remaining 9 games saw attendances in the 19000s and the last game vc Blackpool had 26000 because of freebies etc. Our previous PL campaign we saw crowds around 28000 but last season we were over 30000 bar one game,. Fulham. 'Tan's folly' came in last year and proved to be not such a folly.
I don't believe the attendances that were announced 5 years ago or even now as the inclusion of all season tickets holders falsely increases the announced attendance. I'd be surprised if our attendances stayed at the current level if we are not very successful, so the fall in % terms will be greater. Even plucky little Swansea have seen crowds drop a fair bit this season.

Can’t moan at the team put out really.
Flint and Mozza are there to stay so we’ll have to get used to having 2 slow centre backs. Let’s hope they are protected.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
We need to pass the ball a little quicker
MUUUURRRRRPPPHHHYYYYYYYY!!!
erm and get crosses in earlier rather than always trying to beat the man
GET IN JOSH

Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
Not the cleanest strike and it had a little bobble in front of the keeper but finally some end product from Murphy. Lovely spin from Glatzel to initially draw their defender towards him which opened up the extra little bit of space and time for Murphy !!

Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
Mozza has lost it. He’s gone back a country mile.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
holy shit... if they can turn it on like that at any time they can score against us at any time...
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
He’s had both good and bad moments in the half. He’s trying to stick right to players but if they get away from him then they get well away from him. He seemed to be hobbling back when Mitrovic got away from him so he needs to run that knock off.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
Excellent goal no doubt about it but Murphy has been a passenger again, not good enough.
Morrison, Bacuna and Peltier marking eachother for the Fulham goal frustrating BUT I really thought we’d be 3-0 down at halftime
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
Sean Morrison is bad.
Bamba and Flint needs to be the way as soon as he comes back. Holy crap.
What has happened to Mozza?

Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
Did we have a shot at all after they went down to 10 men?
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
fair play scott parker 19, came to cardiff and with 10 men got a point from worncock 78
we would be happy if the tables were turned.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread

think so, was it ralls but was off target but decent shot with left foot
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
Disappointed with a point, not something i thought I’d see myself saying before the game.
Bad goal to concede, I’d be upset with that in a Sunday league game.
Better though overall.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 1 FULHAM. Match thread
Well that was an improvement and while we couldn’t make the extra man count, there are some positives I suppose. Bacuna put in a much improved performance and we seemed less shaky at the back. But for a big team I find it odd that we both often fail to find Cardiff players with headed returns and concede possession so easily because of a poor first touch.
My biggest concern if Glatzel. He could have done better with the header but he has a thankless task up there on his own with ball after ball flying over his head. A confident player may well have gambled on Morrison’s header.
Overall I feel we need to have a little more quickness of thought and get the pass away that moment sooner. Still it really does feel like we are going in the right direction after this evening.

I worry for Glatzel, he gets absolutely **** all to work with. He was having to come deep then was out of position when we won the ball back.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v FULHAM. Match thread
Fulham should be fking ashamed of the tactics they employed. Best team in the league my arse. Fking conmen.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 1 FULHAM. Match thread
Scott Parker looks like he wants to cry giving his interview.
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 1 FULHAM. Match thread
2 points dropped after they went down to 10 men but we’re still lacking that goalscorer, not convinced by Glatzel, he works hard and is isolated for long periods of the game but still not getting on the end of many chances. One shot well saved in the first half and one poor header in the 2nd half. The longer he goes without scoring the worse it’s going to get for him. Our intensity was better tonight though and a fit Etheridge Paterson Pack and Mendez Lang will help
-
Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 1 FULHAM. Match thread
Niasse went 12 games last season without scoring and he is a far better player than Glatzel. I think Warnock will continue with him, look at the options- Bogle, Vassell, Madine and Ward.
