For **** sake. What a bunch of morons we have in this country

There’s still pubs open up and down the country - just have to take your beer into the beer garden.

I suppose it’s no difference to a takeaway but I worry if it continues into the good weather and crowds gather.

There's been nothing to say people aren't allowed outside has there? Open air and keeping a 2m distance isn't so terrible, it's the socialising inside that's the real problem

I went for a walk from Nash Point to Barry today to get out of the house. It was busyish but it's a massive beach and easy not to get close to people

The film they showed of Bondi you couldnt go for a walk. Packed.

I bet we have a glorious summer this year and we have to close all the beaches.

I ran through a public and country park today. People out walking , running didnt see any problem with that.

Sensible post, I am sure any decent medical advise would recommend this behaviour to help with stress from this awful time it will sadly leave some scars in some minds.

If they shut the nudist beach at the far end of monknash I am going to be writing to the prime minister to complain

The promenades were packed, apparently.
And there were queues at most chippies - some even still allowing 'eat in' orders!

Its not the well people that will get infected though, they will pass it on to the immunosuppresed, vulnerable person.
Go for walks around your housing estates and away from areas that are likely to attract crowds.
I work as a nurse, and the worst case scenario, is that in Wales population 2.5 million there will be 20000 deaths ( worst case scenario).
Normally we utilise 450 critical beds per year, currently we are looking at using 3000.

You won't be alive if you don't drink water, you will literally die of thirst

I don't know what is for the best, none of us really do and none of us know how this is going to pan out or for how long. My thoughts are to listen to the professionals and to be sensible, as it stands we all have the ability to make some decisions based on what we know and what we're comfortable with, it's a very concerning time for many. What doesn't help anyone is some of the hysteria on here, people being completely unproductive by thinking that they know best, truth is that nobody knows the answers on here. I suggest that if people are going to just spread panic on this forum then maybe they should think before they post stuff that isn't helpful. Either that or go and do something to take your mind of things, like clean under the stairs or sweep the garden.

Absolutely aware of the importance of social distancing for the sake of the vulnerable and would never take that lightly, I stay in 95% of the time.

I was surprised at how busy it was today but actually there were maybe 100 people on the beach and it's a huge beach, metres between everybody. I had a quick walk, didn't touch anything or anybody and was never closer than 2 metres to anyone on there, from the advice I've seen that's fine. When it comes to groups of people in close proximity I totally get it and avoid at all costs.

My mum and my sister are both nurses by the way, utmost respect for you all, now more than ever. All the best to you in what's going to be a tough couple of months

Just put some clean paper towels over the handle. If it saves me from getting the virus and passing it on to someone vulnerable (and someone close to me is in that category) it's not a big deal. Were you being facetious, by any chance?

No, i wasn't. I was interested to hear what you did to limit your chances of catching-spreading the Virus. It's difficult, as people still need to touch food, veg etc.

It will be the folks who went to Barry yesterday clogging up the hospital beds here, the fools. Got a few doctors live on my street, one next door, they cannot believe people were so dumb. Plenty of empty beds at the moment they tell me, let’s hope it stays that way hey

Its not as straightforward as that.

The 3 may be fit and well. However they pick up an infection pass it on until it eventually passes to someone they will never meet who may have taken precautions but isnt so lucky.

Just had a phone call from one of the oldies in my street that I am meant to shop for if they are taken ill. He currently shops on behalf of himself and his wife but he uses new rubber gloves for each trip to the supermarket. The cash point is already out of bounds and people need to use contactless payments where possible and be mindful of touching the self-service monitors with their bare hands. Such simple measures could save lives.

I’m always moaning about people using contactless for small amounts, but my last 3 purchases by this method have been £2.20p, £2.70p and a whopping £1.70p today for mushrooms :thumbup:

My wife and i put our mobile phone numbers out to known elderly neighbours, on a card through their letterbox, with a little note saying that both of us are available at certain times (after work and weekends) if they need anything dropped off or just need a chat due to feeling isolated or worried. We don't know them all that well but thought it was the right thing to do, explaining that we both work full time and we have kids etc.

One of them has told all her friends from day centre that we're running this 'service' and we've had about 10 phone calls asking for stuff to be dropped over! We've even had sons and daughters calling from distant parts of the country asking us to go to their parents houses, one lady even told us where they keep the cash! Obviously told them that we're not a service, just helping out. I shouldn't laugh, but i was like Victor Meldrew every time the phone rang the other night :hehe:
