Intelligent bloke based on what? That he can string a sentence together and gives away billions on furlough? (which will have to be paid back by us minions) ?

The Tories are so far out of their depth it’s laughable and petrifying are the same time.

Those tweets from the senior ministers yesterday were obviously just a coordinated defence of Cummings, orchestrated by no 10, which means Cummings possibly arranged it himself.
They all disgust me.

The furlough scheme was badly devised, developed and implemented. It’ll be money pissed against the wall without the results they were expecting. The one defence you could give to the scheme is, it was obviously reliant upon the ****wits in charge coming up with a detailed strategy to combating the pandemic and thus getting the economy going after reducing the risks of infection. Obviously we’re all aware how that’s going.

Shapps on sky news now trying to defend Cummings, absolutely dire in his responses.

Didn’t sound like he had a script on sky earlier, floundering and way out of his depth. Typical yes man for Boris.

It must be very difficult to defend the indefendible. Cummings has to go as this isn't going to go away.

Behind the scenes Cummings Influence and behaviour is already being reduced , last week before this all broke , Boris had made changes to the cabinet office and brought in Simon Case and Helen McNamara (the later Cummings loaths ) . She may become the first female cabinet secretary , they realise the Cummings way us too destructive his purpose has been spent .

Tories on Media now calling for his head , Boris lifeline could be hes listened and acted .

What I don't get is: the concept of being infected with the virus and handing over a child may also have it, to old relatives and therefore putting their lives in danger.

Amongst the things that I don't get is that at the time (~30 March) we were told that Cummings had symptoms. Theres no mention of that now, only that his wife had symptoms at the time.
