Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
No rushing from work, no car park gridlock. No risking parking tickets. No being wet, cold or dealing with arsehole fans.
I can see why the top 4 supporters get used to it

But replaced with "do you have to be so loud?", "they cant hear you" and "mind the furniture" from Mrs D.😂

Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
I am but I'd be enjoying it more if I could watch it on my telly and not on the laptop

Have you got an xbox or PlayStation?
I’m watching it through the internet app built in (Microsoft Edge for me)
Might even work with a streaming stick

Done! I cannot BELIEVE I didn't think of that myself but thank you :hehe:

Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
I was until a minute ago.

Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
It has its upsides.
One of them not being the commentary though.
A few gems from the first half being "It's going to be one of them nights" after Derby's equaliser, followed by a quick backtrack about the game being nervy.
The other was "Bennett had a brief chance to put his laces through the boot".

The commentary is utter gash. I'd rather Dai Hunt have the mic.

No, I much prefer going to games. I also get far more nervous watching on tv.

Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?

So do I, it’s terrible watching on TV, I’m far more nervous! Crazy!

Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
Watching the last few minutes when we’ve got a slender lead is nerve wracking in the ground but I find that it goes to another level watching at home, fidgeting, getting up and walking about, not wanting to watch but really wanting to watch, watching the seconds in the top left hand corner tick away more than actually watching the action......give me the ‘being in the ground’ every day.
-
Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
Agree about the nerves. Far worse when you're stuck in front of the TV. Wonder why that is?
We've got a WhatsApp group which is slightly better than watching it alone. I guess you could set up a Zoom meeting which would be better again. But that's all trying to emulate being there so the answer is obviously its nowhere near as good watching at home.

Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
Rather be there , cant beat a boozed up 3 pm Saturday game which are rare in these modern times .
-
Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
A lot of the "being in the ground" is the social side of things as well, the beer before with your friends, "ooh the team's out" then a big discussion, then the post match analysis. For that reason I'll always prefer going to the ground
-
Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
It's a thwow in to city.....

It's amazing how little you actually see in a TV game, I dislike it as much as sitting in the front row.

Always thought the front rowers are weirdos. Can't see the game properly and guaranteed to get wet if it starts to rain, and yet that's where they choose to go. Weirdooooos.

Front rowers right behind the goals are mega weirdooooos, watching the game through the goal net.
-
Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
Would much prefer to be at the game as like many others have said my nerves watching a game on the box are almost too much to cope with.
And getting a score update just before a goal goes in on my laptop is a bloody nightmare. I am getting better at knocking the sound off at the start of the match.
-
Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
Watching it on City TV it's always a bit behind live. My phone gets alerts from BBC sports so I hate it when it pings during a match, I know there is a goal coming.
Although last night that happened for our first goal and the equaliser but for Tomlin's winner it came moment after it went in, so I enjoyed that one.
Watching from home is better than not watching at all, but I'd rather be in the stadium.

Yep, agree with all of that.

I don't miss the 110 mile drive to home games though the catch up with mates from home was great as was watching the game with my brother and family and the season ticket holders we got to know.
I miss the away games for the buzz, atmosphere any exploring (mostly familiar now) towns and cities more so.

Yeah well I said my piece as someone who can see the ground from his bedroom skylight so your point is very fair :hehe:
Respect to people like yourself who travel those kind of distances every home game, I can't honestly say that I would
-
Re: Are you enjoying watching Cardiff from home?
I’ve got a picture in my head now of Delmi stood on a chair, head out of the skylight wistfully staring at the ground with a tear in his eye.

One advantage of watching from home is not having Dai Hunt anywhere nearby!

Not at the moment, the City still have him on furlough, the government have allowed them to use this scheme for him and him alone for another 50 years.

You checked any nearby bushes. He's never far away.

Not by much though so the sound is always muted for me and I listen to heavy rock instead. It sure raises the adrenaline.
