FT: WALES 1 - 0 Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
International football from CCS. ko 5pm
Wales top their group going in to this game. A win coupled with a Finland defeat in Bulgaria would see Wales win the group and with that promotion. Any other combination of results will mean it goes down to the final game in Cardiff on Wednesday against Finland.
Game on S4C and Sky

Looking forward to this. Hopefully stick one on them!! Kieffer Moore to score (he’s due one) with Wales 2-0 my prediction. 👍

Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Ah, just saw the team sheet above! Ok Moore to score after coming on as sub! 😂who’s up front then? Bale on his own?

Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Quite an attack minded line up. Hopefully a better game than the last time we played them.

EH?? We have 6 defenders and no striker in our starting 11
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Making the Irish look like world beaters, we're passing to Irish players rather than team mates.
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
neco Williams is looking great
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Neko Williams, Rodon and Bale all playing well. Most of the rest are not.

And look to be playing 7 at the back
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Why is James not wide? Norrington-Davies is out wide and can’t cross for toffee.
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Morrell lucky to stay on.
I'd replace Norrington-Davies and Morell at half time for Moore and Smith.
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
We certainly need Moore on as we have no presence upfront. Our midfield without Ramsey and Allen isn’t up to it.
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
I might be a dinasour but this passing for passing sake which either means eventually losing it or going 75 yds back to the keeper bores the pants off me. I'll go back to mainly watching the Masters

Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Ward's kicking is suicidal !!!!!!!
The one he even kicked into a Welsh player 2 yards away from him.
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
So boring.
Pass across the defence, long switch, take a touch backwards, rinse and repeat.
Just nothing going forward and when we have managed to get an overload we hit the first man or just lose the ball.

Yeah but at the same time could have hit the deck with a scream and maybe Molumby walked.

Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Ireland are a horrible team, so many times they leave the foot in to make sure there's contact
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Our break after the McLean chance we should have done better.
Brookes had made a super run to Dan James's left and all James had to do was slip him in.
If that's Ramsey on the ball, he puts it on a plate for Brookes.
It was a really poor decision by James to go on his own as the two defenders both went to him and closed him down.
Commentators never said a dickie bird

Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Keeping possession is fine but from a starting point of 30 odd yards from your opponent's goal to end up 30 yards from our own goal consistently is ridiculous. Norrington-Davies is the worst culprit. What is the point of taking up great attacking positions wide left only to instinctively pass back 20 yards time after time.
Agree that only Nico Williams, Bale and Rodin are playing well. Ramsey and Allen can't come back soon enough.

The quality players play positively. Norrington - Davies doesn’t look good enough. As you say he looks to pass back and momentum is lost.

Spot on!

Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Brookes and James have been so disappointing.
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Are we playing for a 0-0 draw? Because the way this game is going, that looks to be the best-case scenario.

My son has just said the same thing. This is a very poor Ireland side and we are no better than them.

Aren't they just.
Like watching Stoke under Pulis.

Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
This is the problem when people believe the hype, the simple fact is we still only have a few proper proven players, and maybe 2 or 3 jems as youth. The other 50 we've capped in last 2 to 3 years have mostly been shite.

Kieffer
Seen 'em given mind.
Edit: Yessss!!! Brooks

Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
I was just about to post negatively about Brooks. Ha ha ha! Get in.
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
That’s more like it, but of quality play and we score
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Moore provides the presence upfront allowing Bale to head across and Brooks does well to finish. Good cross from Dan James.
Bulgaria have pulled one back
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
We look better with Moore on
-
Re: WALES v Rep of IRELAND. Match thread
Only a matter of time before McLean clatters Williams.
