Which country/countries could you represent
On another thread Sean Morrison's eligibility to play for the Republic of Ireland was discussed.
If you were good enough, which country/countries would you be eligible to represent ?
As the rule stands I could only play for Wales. If it went back to my great grandparents, which it doesn't, I could play for the Republic of Ireland (on both sides of the family).

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Only Wales for me, but I wouldn't chose any other nation anyway
But my boys were born in London, grew up here apart from their first few years.
My girls were born here.
But al 4 kids (though they're adults now) could choose Wales, England (my mrs) or Jockland Their gran)

Exactly the same as me. But Cornwall believes they're and independent state anyway.

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
For my kids it would be Wales, Switzerland (my parents), Ireland (my wife) or England (their place of birth and residence). However, chances of representing any of them at anything other than sitting behind a laptop seem very thin!

Wales.
My dad could have played for Wales or England. My mum could have played for Wales, England or Norway.

Have you been reading my diary ?

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Wales and Ireland for me.
My son has an english mother and was born in Berlin but he never thinks of supporting anyone but Wales.
-
Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Unsure of the qualification requirements but I suppose I could play for England due to my grandfather.
My namesake already plays rugby for England though so I'll stick with Wales

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Belgium, England, Israel, Netherlands & Wales.

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
I could only represent Wales if it goes back as far as Grandparents.
My kids could represent England, but they've been informed they would no longer be classed as my kids if they decided to go down that path.

There’s a few on here who’d qualify for Brazil, they’re nuts!

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Wales and Greece (Grandfather)

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Wales (I had an English great grandfather but otherwise all Welsh) and The People's Republic of South Yorkshire if residency rules apply (born in Cardiff but lived 95% of my life in England, most of that time in Sheffield).

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
I'm not sure of the current rules, but there's a possibility I could play for Wales, Russia and Poland via my adoptive parents and grandparents, or England and India via my birth parents and grandparents, or maybe all of those five.
I've no idea what the qualification rules are regarding adoptive relatives or even if such rules exist. I guess someone must have tested the water in that respect at some stage, but I've never heard or read about anyone doing so.

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Wales (3 grand parents) England (the other one)
My boys are a mix of Wales, England, N.Ireland, Ireland or wherever they would choose being Manx

Re: Which country/countries could you represent

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
I’ve represented Wales in pool when I was a kid. Me and my mate were Welsh and British under 14s doubles champions In 1990.

I used to wonder if i could get a call up to Bangladesh, but then i played with a few decent Bengali boys growing up so maybe not.
I would choose Wales every time.

In the past, some people born on UK military bases abroad could choose to play for any of the Home Countries.

England and Wales

Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Wales and England. Would be a bit more interesting if great grandparents were considered.
-
Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Wales through both of my parents, and England through place of birth. I'll also be eligible for Denmark next year when I get my citizenship... They've been waiting patiently for the so far overlooked and by then 42 year old winger with crocked ankles to become available...
-
Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Wales (country of birth), England (parents), Canada (Grandmother), Germany (Grandfather).
-
Re: Which country/countries could you represent
Wales and possibly England. My paternal great-grandparents moved from Dorset to Cardiff for work and I'm not sure if my grandfather was born before or after they moved.
