City in for another Mangotsfield United player
Apparently, we’re after Miguel Freckleton, who would be following in the path of Jai Semenyo in joining us from Mangotsfield.

Re: City in for another Mangotsfield United player
It's great to see Cardiff City competing for Man United's top players.

Re: City in for another Mangotsfield United player
I know the name FGR were looking at him earlier this season, he is a product of the SGS setup ( I occasionally pop down to watch them as I do a few CPD's there, and its a evening out with a nice coffee machine onsite ) a few FL scouts pop down and watch them play, pretty sure he was on Bristol rovers books for a while

Re: City in for another Mangotsfield United player
I've been impressed with what I've seen of Jai Semenyo, which admittedly isn't a lot.

My boys play for the JFC and the first thing I said to them was that they can say that they play for Man United.
The team are called The Mangoes by the locals.

TLDR IMO NQAT

Re: City in for another Mangotsfield United player
Left footed centre back who used to play in midfield - i'm not surprised he's in demand if he's any good. With so many teams opting for 3 at the back these days left footed centre backs who can pass the ball are like gold dust at the moment.

I've understood very little of this thread

Can’t believe it’s got an NCM onsite.
Is there much money in custard porn demonstrations these days?

Great to see the scouting role working

Re: City in for another Mangotsfield United player
Love these rumours until its apparent every club and Hull City are also apparently looking at him.

FGR = Forest Green Rovers ( the football team )
SGS = South Gloucestershire and Stroud College, they run a football ( and rugby ) program for aspiring players who still want to study, normally a BTEC Lv3 in sports, fairly well known around Bristol ( I know they have a few south welsh lads travel over to do the program, seen 1 or 2 with city training kit on, so mistakenly thought people might have known them  )
CPD = Continuing Professional Development ( not the least unknown acronym in the word )

Re: City in for another Mangotsfield United player
It might not be uncommon but it’s about context. No one is really expecting to see CPD in a football thread on a football messageboard :hehe:
Maybe use a glossary next time

you knew what a CPD was though, yet still found time for a smart arse remark , well done

Re: City in for another Mangotsfield United player
It wasn’t intended to be smart arse no need to be such a PLP (precious little princess). People are generally just trying to have a bit of a laugh with you I think.

Minus the smart arse replies mate, I think plenty will agree you went OTT (over the top) there. Maybe a case of being familiar with them yourself and not considering not every man and their dog will get them

agreed, thats why I replied to wildbill with the above post, explaining what they were
My smart arse reply post still stands though, it was just a smart arse reply which turns out was a attempt at humour

Re: City in for another Mangotsfield United player
I didn't know what CPD meant, but I didn't want to say as it looks like someone has PMT :hehe:

All I hope is those “student council” members ban making jokes about acronyms. Because blue matt can let racism about Romani people stay on the board but you better not laugh at CPD! :hehe:
I also worry about MDF.

Re: City in for another Mangotsfield United player
So, moving back to the topic, I personally found it interesting as it’s local to me and, yes, SGS (based in Filton) has a good reputation.
It seems like Cardiff City are doubling down on youth.

Re: City in for another Mangotsfield United player
****ing hell, it has become grim on this board.
