Re: Michael Sheen meets the lads
He's a great actor and orator. The Polish players must have picked up on his speech cos they all acted superbly aswell.

Re: Michael Sheen meets the lads
I was lucky enough to meet him once or twice through work. He is very down-to-earth and just an all round top fella.

All a bit melodramatic for my liking. I hope this stops now, I think that I'd feel a bit nauseous if this was done before a Wales game at the stadium.

I'm glad someone has said it. He's a fine actor, but I was kinda wincing watching it tbh. A bit like if Brian Blessed was talking about warm beer and Morris dancing to Harry Kane and Trent Alexander Arnold.

He is a fine actor and a good man by the sounds of things, and a huge mark up ont he likes of charlotte church and Kathryn Jenkins etc. I can live with a bit of parochialism, after all, Wales is quite tight knit communally in my opinion, but i'd also like to see something else ( not sure what) that doesn't refer to dragons, mountains and fire. I thought the red flag in Merthyr bit was good though... :hehe: :hehe:

Especially as some of the players are like wtf bro, my Nan moved to Wolverhampton when she was 20, chill. :hehe::wales:

Re: Michael Sheen meets the lads
Great actor, seems a great guy. Was actually a good speech.
Shouldn't be anywhere near the football though. Everyone seems to have a story where their phone blew up with the video, I think I saw it on here and they spoke about it on the radio.
Even worse than bringing in the independence folk guy.

I think that it should be taken in the spirit that it was meant, although some people get a bit wrapped up in this kind of stuff, and i don't believe that it's healthy.

It's a bit of fun but scratching the surface the bloke sitting next to you supporting Wales is probably a Liverpool or man United fan
And in the next row are a bunch of tory boys
Naa

Re: Michael Sheen meets the lads
The first one he did on that TV show was better. Made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck that did.
This one was a huge anti-climax to be fair.
It's one of them where you really want to like it and get excited, and then someone sticks a hole in your balloon...

I'm inclined to agree. This is not a Welsh rugby team from 50 years ago. Working-class boys all born with 70 miles of each other. Most of this team are millionaires and many of them not particularly welsh.

Good grief, let them enjoy it, it's not doing anyone any harm and, what you class as Welsh or not, one of the reasons for the unprecedented success of the last six years or so is that this is a very united squad that appears to be proud of representing Wales - a squad which England used to help them recreate their public image.

I think it was meant to be some light-hearted fun for the players and staff on the final morning of their camp, not a motivational speech for a bunch of grumpy old men sitting in darkened rooms, frantically swiping on their phones as they seek out the true meaning of life

Also Joe Rodon said in an interview that the team loved the original and it was all over the squad whattsapp group, which is probably what led to this

I LOVED it when he was on 'A League Of Their Own' but this is all a bit forced. :indifferent:

Re: Michael Sheen meets the lads
Yeah, you've said in one word what I said in a hundred. I was willing him to speed up!

If they enjoyed it fair enough. But it looked more like an awkward moment to me.

He’s an actor, it’s a performance. Bit of fun, I enjoyed it.
